This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer to develop your technical skills while contributing to the design of innovative, sustainable and future-ready buildings.

You'll become part of a collaborative team of over 20 engineers and technicians in Edinburgh, supported by a wider North Region network of more than 100 building services professionals. Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll gain hands-on exposure to projects across Scotland, the UK and internationally.

The Opportunity

We're looking for an Electrical Services Engineer (Grade 2) to join our growing Building Services team in Edinburgh. You'll work on projects across the commercial, residential, education, healthcare, science and industry, sport, heritage and mixed-use sectors, helping clients deliver high-quality, sustainable and future-ready buildings.

Roles and Responsibilities

As an Electrical Services Engineer, you'll support the delivery of electrical building services designs across a range of exciting projects and sectors, including:

  • Commercial developmentsEducation and healthcare facilities
  • Residential and mixed-use schemes
  • Science and industry projects
  • Heritage and sports facilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with electrical building services design and technical calculations.Supporting the development of drawings, models and specifications using industry-standard software and BIM tools.
  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical engineers, structural engineers, architects and sustainability consultants.
  • Contributing to the design of power, lighting and building services systems.Attending project meetings and supporting engagement with clients and stakeholders.
  • Learning and applying sustainable and low-carbon design solutions.
  • Supporting digital engineering initiatives, including BIM and data-driven design approaches.

Is this role right for you?
We’re looking for people who:

  • Hold, or are due to complete, a degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Have a genuine interest in building services and sustainable design.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Are proactive, organised and eager to learn.
  • Have an interest in digital engineering and BIM technologies.
  • Are keen to work towards professional registration and long-term career development.
