As a Façade Designer, you will aim to develop key knowledge and skills that will allow you to provide a high quality of consultancy services. This may take the form of undertaking relevant modelling, analytical research, and design work within your relevant business area. An enthusiasm to explore and develop skills in all types of cladding, glazing, walls and roofs that form modern building envelopes is essential.
The Opportunity
- Support the delivery of façade engineering projects through design development, analysis, and technical documentation.
- Produce accurate, high-quality project deliverables, including drawings, reports, specifications, and presentations.
- Coordinate façade-related submissions and assist in managing project timelines, quality, and performance.
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders, contributing to meetings, presentations, and project communications.
- Conduct technical research, apply engineering principles to problem-solving, and support knowledge-sharing and team development initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental standards, including relevant legislation and ISO management systems.
Is this role right for you?
- Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline, with experience in façade, building, or sustainability design.
- Proficiency in key design software including Rhino/Grasshopper, Revit and SketchUp, with exposure to AutoCAD, Strand7, IES, Therm or similar tools.
- Strong communication and report-writing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactive and accountable, with the ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure, and contribute positively to team outcomes.
- Demonstrates initiative, promotes best practice, and is committed to continuous learning, professional development, and delivering high-quality results.
