POSITION OVERVIEW

The Human Resources Senior Associate will work closely with the Human Resources Director, with a strong focus on leave of absence management, employee benefits administration, wellness initiatives, and benefits compliance. This role is responsible for the day-to-day administration of health and welfare programs, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and supporting employees throughout the full lifecycle of leave and benefits-related events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a primary resource for all leave of absence programs, including FMLA, state and local leaves, paid family leave, short-term and long-term disability, and firm-sponsored leave policies.
  • Manage the full leave lifecycle, including intake, documentation, communication, coordination with payroll and benefits vendors, and return-to-work processes.
  • Ensure leave programs are administered in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Administer benefit programs including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, LTD, AD&D, and retirement plans.
  • Respond to inquiries from employees throughout the organization including colleagues in HR in a timely and professional manner.
  • Review and approve benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations in Workday.
  • Partners with members of compensation and payroll to ensure accurate benefit deductions are submitted to payroll.
  • Conduct weekly new hire benefits orientation and support ongoing employee education regarding benefit offerings.
  • Support the administration and ongoing coordination of wellness and well-being programs.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal filings and notices, including ERISA, EEOC, ACA, San Francisco Health Ordinance monthly payments and annual tax filings, Medicare Part D filing, CMS filing, 1094 and 1095-C employer filings, PCORI payments, MA HIRD filing, and required federal and state notices (e.g., Women’s Rights, HIPAA, CHIP).
  • Assists with processing monthly invoices for benefit plans and employee reimbursements.
  • Assist with annual benefits renewal, open enrollment, and new benefit implementation.
  • Respond to ad hoc reporting requests, benefits benchmarking, and special projects as needed.

DESIRED BACKGROUND / EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of five years of experience in benefits administration and/or leave of absence management
  • Strong working knowledge of benefits compliance and leave regulations
  • Interest in financial services is strongly preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Workday experience a plus

Compensation:

Expected Annual Base Salary: $90k - $100k

Actual base salary will be determined by a wide range of factors including but not limited to role, function, level, experience, qualifications and geographic location. In addition to a competitive base salary, this position may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based upon factors such as individual impact, team and firm performance.
