WHAT MAKES US A GREAT PLACE TO WORK

We are proud to be consistently recognized as one of the world’s best places to work. We are currently the top ranked consulting firm on Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work list and have earned the #1 overall spot a record seven times. Extraordinary teams are at the heart of our business strategy, but these don’t happen by chance. They require intentional focus on bringing together a broad set of backgrounds, cultures, experiences, perspectives, and skills in a supportive and inclusive work environment. We hire people with exceptional talent and create an environment in which every individual can thrive professionally and personally.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

Bain has formalized industry and capability “Practices” that are integral to how Bain wins and delivers results to its clients. Together they form our Product, Practice, and Knowledge ("PPK") team. The role of a Practice is to drive growth for Bain in a particular industry or capability together with offices, and boost Bain’s expertise and commercial excellence.

Financial Services (FS) is Bain’s Practice responsible for developing intellectual property and commercializing Bain’s approach to strategy, transformation, and operations across multiple sectors in this space, including Banking, Insurance, Wealth and Asset Management, Payments.

The Financial Services practice works closely with Bain’s capability practices (e.g. strategy, performance improvement, Vector) to bring the best of Bain to our clients. Vector encompasses Bain’s technology and data/analytic capabilities (including Artificial Intelligence).

WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM

The Practice Consultant is a critical member of our Americas Financial Services Practice team — based in Mexico City and partnering directly with the Practice Senior Manager and Regional Practice Leader across a remit that spans North America and Latin America. Our practice is in the middle of an ambitious transformation: scaling Banking, Insurance, Wealth & Asset Management, and Payments against a significant growth agenda, while building marquee programs like our Financial Services AI Summits that shape how the industry navigates agentic AI, risk, and the next wave of digital transformation.

This is a role with real surface area. You will sit at the center of how the Americas FS Practice operates — supporting senior partners, shaping practice strategy, and owning content for our highest-visibility external moments. You will be expected to bring judgment and a point of view from day one, not just executional polish.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Practice management & governance

  • Drive the agenda, materials, and follow-through for regional practice meetings and core governance forums; translate discussions into action and hold the line on follow-up
  • Build executive-ready analyses and presentations that show how the practice is tracking against its growth agenda, KPIs, and investments
  • Partner with the PSM and RPL to develop the regional practice plan and budget, coordinating with the global team to ensure alignment

Commercial operations

  • Shape how the practice engages its priority accounts across the Americas — supporting account management calls, identifying experts for proposals and pitches, and ensuring the right Bain talent reaches the right opportunities
  • Track and accelerate interlock execution with capability practices (especially Vector); contribute to interlock content where you have the angle to add value
  • Own sales collateral on priority IP — what’s needed to be competitive in market, who the promoters are, and how content evolves with client demand
  • Support proposals and casework in your areas of expertise as bandwidth allows
  • Talent strategy
  • Maintain the single source of truth on our Americas FS talent pipeline — including hires, transfers, new affiliates, and movement across NA and LatAm
  • Support affiliate engagement across both regions: shaping agendas for regional calls and trainings, coordinating facilitators, and helping build a connected practice culture across geographies and languages
  • Contribute input to the PSM/RPL on affiliate performance during the HLA process; gather and synthesize input from sector teams

Marketing & brand building

  • Help shape and stage the Americas FS Practice’s external presence: AI Summits, sector forums, and other marquee events. Drive content development, prepare hosts and facilitators, run pre-wires and dry-runs
  • Partner with the Marketing team to produce videos, blogs, briefs, and regional sales collateral; track ROI and impact

ABOUT YOU

This role follows a hybrid model, requiring in-office presence at least 3 days per week.

  • 5+ years industry experience (within Business Intelligence, special projects, operations focus) with an undergraduate degree OR 3-5 years experience with MBA/Master’s OR MBB consulting experience at the Senior Associate or Consultant level OR Senior Consultant Level at other management consulting firms
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish at C1 or above• Proven ability to drive work end-to-end with limited direction — building workplans, managing across stakeholders (COEs, Marketing, Finance, Experts, client-facing teams), and delivering against ambiguous briefs
  • Strong analytical and structuring skills, including advanced Excel; comfortable building executive-ready slides and written communications that land insight at the right level for senior audiences
  • Genuine interest in financial services. Direct sector exposure — at or with insurers, asset managers, payments players, or FS-focused PE — is a meaningful plus
  • Fluency with AI tools as part of your daily workflow, and curiosity about how AI is reshaping the FS industry and how Bain serves it
  • Track record of mentoring and apprenticing junior team members
  • Basic financial literacy (P&L, balance sheet, business KPIs) and comfort engaging on FS-specific commercial dynamics
  • Flexibility to work outside standard business hours when needed, given the cross-border, cross-time-zone nature of the role
