Position Summary

The Sr. ServiceNow Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data architecture within the ServiceNow platform. This position requires a deep understanding of the application of ServiceNow's Common Service Data Model (CSDM) across the platform and applications deployed within it.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing a comprehensive strategy for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the CSDM and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) in alignment with organizational goals
  • Defining and maintaining data models, classes, and attributes within ServiceNow, including relationships, dependencies, and categorization, to accurately represent configuration items (CIs)
  • Design and implement data architecture strategies that ensure data consistency, quality, and security while supporting the scalability and future growth of the ServiceNow platform
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to integrate data from various sources into ServiceNow, ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and alignment with business needs
  • Continuously analyze and optimize data architecture to improve system performance, scalability, and efficiency, staying ahead of potential bottlenecks
  • Establishing and enforcing data governance policies, standards, and procedures for CMDB and CSDM, including data quality, integrity, and consistency
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation of data models, schemas, and architectural standards to facilitate knowledge sharing within the organization.
  • Providing guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership to other data architects and ServiceNow developers, fostering their professional growth
  • Collaborating closely with IT teams, business analysts, and stakeholders to thoroughly understand data requirements and translate them into practical solutions
  • Continuously monitor data architecture performance, proactively identify and troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure the reliability and availability of data services

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or technical field, or equivalent work experience
  • 6+ years experience in a senior-level data engineering function
  • Experience leading and managing others
  • Proficiency in ServiceNow's data management features
  • Experience with data integration tools and technologies
  • Good understanding of Data Warehouse and Data Lake architectures
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative and innovative work environment

Desired Skills

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in ITSM or ITOM
