Job Description:

Works as part of finance technology team on delivery of regulatory reporting projects. Will work under the guidance of change lead for APAC finance technology projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on automation projects for APAC finance regulatory reporting technology team as senior business analyst primarily working on data provisioning and reporting on Axiom SL product.

  • Mentor other business analysts in the team to bring them up to speed on project assignments.

  • Gather data and business requirements by working with finance and operations teams in APAC.

  • Challenge current business processes and functional logic if there are gaps with regulatory requirements while capturing requirements for automation.

  • Perform peer review of requirements documented by other business analysts.

  • Document business requirements and translate business terms into functional specifications for development team and coordinate with other technology teams to source data for regulatory reporting.

  • Impact analysis for enhancements to existing platform to confirm to regulatory changes.

  • Participate in design discussion and provide inputs to come up with solution that is scalable and sustainable.

  • Work with scrum master to coordinate between the business users, development and support team on requirement sign off, development support, functional testing, and release management.

  • Participate in scrum routines for sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint review and retrospective.

  • Work with scrum master to break project into epics and write user stories.

  • Perform data analysis and work on data quality issues impacting regulatory reporting.

  • Work with users to define data controls and operating model post automation.

  • Raise risks in project in timely manner with scrum master and escalate as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years of Business Analyst experience in banking domains.

  • Deep understanding of regulatory framework and upcoming regulations in APAC financial regulatory reporting.

  • Deep understanding of Axiom SL product functionality for regulatory reporting and basic understanding of the technical configuration to be able to do impact analysis.

  • Understanding of corporate banking (credit facilities/loans/deposits/trade finance) & global markets (FX/derivatives/securities/money market) financial products and business process

  • Understanding of reference data needed for regulatory reporting (customer/ratings/FX rates)

  • Understanding of software development process; actual experience in Agile/Scrum process will be an advantage,

  • Experience in gathering business requirements, creating specifications.

  • Experience in data analysis using SQL and excel.

  • Understanding of capital calculation, BASEL 3, VaR, liquidity ratios, market risk and counterparty risk calculation will be an advantage.

  • Good communication skills and experience in working in a virtual team,

  • Previous experience in regulatory reporting projects / reporting tools like Axiom
