Role Overview:
An opportunity has arisen in our London office for a Compliance Specialist to join the Global Markets Compliance and Operational (GCOR) Risk team. The role is responsible for providing support to the Compliance and Operational Risk team to execute second line of defense compliance and operational risk oversight for the Markets Business in the UK and CEEMEA, with a particular focus on trade surveillance.
Responsibilities
- Support the UK Markets GCOR team in execution of their responsibility for trade surveillance coverage, and continuous enhancement of the trade surveillance program, including, but not limited to: tracking of Risk Technology enhancement prioritisation, assisting with review of EMEA regulatory change and/or updates, tracking open issues & remediation pertaining to EMEA trade surveillance, and supporting cross functional / regional change management relating to surveillance.
- Support the co-ordination of cross functional projects and initiatives within Global Markets GCOR.
- Assist Global Markets GCOR in responding to trading venue and regulatory inquiries and other audits and examinations.
- Lead co-ordination of Management Information for UK Global Markets GCOR and assist in the development of independent risk management reporting for respective area(s) of coverage as input into management routines.
- Assist Global Markets GCOR with independent monitoring and assessment, and provide review and challenge to the business.
- Attend & participate in GCOR governance forums.
- Provide support for various GCOR program initiatives including, but not limited to, reviews of Operational Loss data, Single Process Inventory alignment and mapping.
What we are looking for:
- Versatile and confident with work experience in financial services, ideally within a second-line function
- Ability to engage and communicate confidently and professionally with internal stakeholders.
- Excellent written communication; ability to pull together content from multiple stakeholders in Word and PowerPoint format is essential
- Knowledge of the UK, European regulatory framework pertaining to trade surveillance
- Intellectually curious with an analytical mind-set
