Job Description:

Bank of America operates in multiple countries outside of the U.S., offering a wide variety of products and services to clients. In Asia-Pacific, product offerings are currently centered in corporate and investment banking and securities. Business plans are developed by business group, product, and client segment globally. At the same time, the local economic environment, client needs, and regulatory requirements create the need for a country-level governance of the company’s business.

The role of Chief Operating Officer, Korea is to support Korea Country Executive and to enable the LOBs to fulfill their governance obligations. The COO also provides advice and leadership towards the achievement of the combined organization’s philosophy, mission, strategy, and its performance plans (goals and objectives). This role is part of the COO’s team and will report to a Business Executive who is responsible for our country Strategic Plans.

In this capacity the Business Support Manager (VP) plays a key role in assisting the COO management in the firm’s execution of its strategy in APAC. We are looking for an exemplary, self-motivated individual to perform a broad range of functions on strategic and market-based analysis for various new business opportunities and coordination with the line of business and support partners to drive new business initiatives and to satisfy the governance requirement both internally and externally.

You will utilize your extensive business acumen to understand the business models within the industry. You will be a highly effective communicator at all levels of the organization and have the ability to produce financial and other business analysis and deliver high quality presentations that convey highly confidential and sensitive information.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a consultative role in translating measuring, analyzing and reporting business performance for Senior Management
  • Conduct structured strategic analysis in relation to market competitors including financial data
  • Proactively identify and deliver relevant analytics to address key business needs and drive business growth
  • Manage strategic projects and analyses to identify key insights and ensure integrity and accuracy of results
  • Establish and execute efficient processes for updating recurring business reporting packages
  • Derive business intelligence from internal and external sources and identify new relevant data metrics to assess business performance
  • Collaborate with all lines of business to ensure data availability
  • Assist with the design, development and the implementation of any regional metrics system and dashboards
  • Work with other COO teams on key projects and initiatives and Korea Country COO
  • Act as key contact point for all regulatory, business and employee issues impacting Korea
  • Take a lead role in the governance routines for Merrill Lynch Seoul Branch Provide leadership and support on regulatory exams in terms of exam management, content and quality of submissions.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Bloomberg. Demonstrated skills with query, reporting and analysis tools
  • Ability to navigate complex/matrix management
