Role and Responsibilities

The role sits within the Corporate Banking Italy (CBK) team in Milan and will support both core corporate banking activities and the strategic expansion of the franchise in the Italian middle market segment.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior bankers across origination and execution, contributing to client coverage, transaction support and business development initiatives.

The resource will be responsible to provide support on transactions across the Bank’s broad corporate banking product suite (including lending, treasury and capital markets solutions). Such support may include maintaining financial models, coordinating due diligence, managing working group lists and timetables.

  • Support day-to-day client coverage activities for Italian corporate clients and assist in the development of new business opportunities

  • Assist in the preparation of pitch materials, credit analysis and internal approval documentation

  • Structure, prepare and deliver client presentations

  • Actively participate in executing transactions and work to expand your level of client interaction and responsibilities on transactions

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (product partners, risk, legal, etc.) to support deal execution and client management

  • Partner closely with product teams to deliver integrated solutions

  • Work closely with clients, lawyers and other stakeholders

  • Support portfolio monitoring activities, including risk assessment, financial performance tracking and sector analysis

  • Identify and support cross-selling opportunities across the Bank’s platform to deliver integrated client solutions

What we are looking for

  • Educated to degree level (preferably in a numerical discipline such as economics or finance)

  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in corporate banking, investment banking, consulting or similar environments

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills are required

  • Proficient level of MS Excel and PowerPoint

  • Fluency in Italian and English is essential

  • Meticulous attention to detail, diligence and conscientiousness

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Capable of working effectively both independently and with multiple teams/individuals
