Embark your transformative journey with Barclays as Tech Control Testing Lead within CCO Controls testing Risk and Control team where you’ll play a pivotal role in assuring bank’s strategic risk mitigation, though use of data led testing of technology implementation solutions that address business problems and opportunities in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures. You will act as primary liaison service between the business, technology, and security functions to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information, and support the mitigation of security risk or own remediation plan of security Risk posture for building secure Cloud platforms. Your role involves engaging with various technology, security, architecture teams, building reusable patterns for further downstream consumption.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • IT & Cyber Infrastructure leadership experience with deep understanding of enterprise IT platforms, including cloud services, Networking & firewall, Cryptography, Active Directory, Microsoft platforms and more. 15 years industry and min 10 years of strong Relevant experience.

  • Good understanding of governance, risk, and compliance methodologies, including management experience of Testing/audit lifecycle stages.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills demonstrating a collaborative approach across a range of stakeholders, including senior colleagues and the ability to communicate technical scenarios in plain English.

  • Team player with an ability to support colleagues in achieving team objectives. Proven experience of leading delivery with a decoupled matrix team.

  • Ability to build technical Data Analytic scripts.

  • Critical thinking, balancing Business and Technical viewpoints.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • CEH or CISSP certified or similar security certification, vendor qualifications in AWS, Azure cloud platforms.

  • Good software engineering background, with experience in modern development tools and processes.

  • Experience in developer education, developer enablement, or technical advocacy with a background in hosting technical workshops, hackathons, or meetups.

This role is based in our Pune office.

Purpose of the role

To partner with the bank, to provide independent insurance on control processes and advise on improvements to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the bank’s internal controls framework.

Accountabilities

  • Collaboration across the bank to maintain a satisfactory, robust, and efficient control environment through the execution of ad-hoc assessments and testing on the design and operational effectiveness of the internal controls, aligned to control policies and standards.
  • Development of detailed test plans and procedures to identify weaknesses in internal controls and other initiatives aligned to the bank’s control framework to mitigate any potential risks and issues, prioritised by its severity to disrupt bank operations, potential losses, and reputational impact.
  • Communication of key findings and observations to the relevant stakeholders and business units to improve overall control efficiency and provide corrective actions to senior managers. Collaboration with other control professionals to resolve complex issues and ensure consistent testing methodologies across the bank.
  • Development of a knowledge centre containing detailed documentation of control assessments, testing on design and operational effectiveness of procedures, findings, and the distribution of material on internal controls to train and upskill colleagues within the bank.
