Join us as a Legal Business Proc Op-Matter Controller at Barclays, where you will support the legal function by providing an end-to-end Procure to Pay assistance, helping them managing external third party spend, matters and portfolios, assisting queries from both internal teams and external vendors. The Legal Matter Controller role will be responsible for providing operational support to the Legal Function.

To be successful as a “Legal Business Proc Op-Matter Controller”, you should have experience with:

  • Graduate is required.
  • Procurement Industry experience / Knowledge of Procurement (P2P) cycle and operations.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to consider wider objectives.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel & PowerPoint
  • Facing customers / clients in their current role.
  • Strong Understanding of regulatory requirements, Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.
  • Outstanding Stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Extensive problem-solving skills required along with a solution-oriented approach
  • The ability to identify, address and where necessary escalate key risks and issues.
  • Taking full ownership and accountability of tasks to completion through effective prioritisation and a commitment to teamwork.
  • Excellent time management and personal organisation skills.
  • A team player but self-reliant and able to work proactively.

Desirable skills/Good to have:

  • Commerce Gradate.
  • Coupa & Process Unity Knowledge.
  • Portfolio Management experience.
  • Experience in reporting.
  • Participation in projects other than BAU.

Purpose of the role

To support business areas with day-to-day processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution.

Accountabilities

  • Support various business areas with day-to-day initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading, and issue resolution.
  • Collaboration with teams across the bank to align and integrate operational processes.
  • Identification of areas for improvement and providing recommendations in operational processes.
  • Development and implementation of operational procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Development of reports and presentations on operational performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.
  • Identification of industry trends and developments to implement best practice in banking operations.
  • Participation in projects and initiatives to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
