Step into the role of Vice President - Financing Securities MO at Barclays, where you'll ensure processing is of the highest standard, whilst meeting agreed SLAs, and being mindful of risk, efficiency, budget and personal conduct.

  • Securities Middle Office is responsible for the effective functioning and/or monitoring of all Fixed Income and Equity Financing Operations related activities. It is a front to back client service function supporting cash Securities business including trade processing, break resolution and client reporting. The group interacts with the Financing desk, Execution desks, Stock Loan, clients, other operations areas, finance, and IT on a daily basis.

  • The VP will help manage client trade activity related to both Equity and Fixed Income products, ensuring the team’s daily activity is processed and risk and control items are mitigated in a timely manner. The role will also require extensive daily interaction with both internal and external clients. They will serve as the primary escalation contact for Client Service and Sales teams.

  • Overseeing the team’s daily trade processing across all financing & billing activities.

  • Ensuring the team properly captured trades by the firms in- house systems and where necessary, manually enter pending root cause analysis and remediation

  • Identifying inter/intra system exceptions stemming from breakdowns in trade lifecycle processing

  • Investigating root cause of issues and determining strategic solutions

  • Multi-tasking requests from several clients while providing superior client service.

  • Creating strategies to better serve our clients.

  • The VP will work closely with the others to ensure the daily reconciliations and control activities are completed and risk is reported the desks and the clients.

Desirable skills sets:

  • The role holder should be experienced in people and process management. The role holder will work with teams such as the Trading Desk, Sales, settlements, Finance, Collateral, Margin Compliance, Legal.

This role is based out of Pune

Purpose of the role

To manage operations within a business area and maintain processes, risk management initiatives and compliance with relevant regulators.

Accountabilities

  • Identification of trends and opportunities to improve areas and develop new process and procedures through the monitoring and analysis of operation data and performance metrices.
  • Management of operations for a business area and promote efficient processes, risk management and compliance initiatives to support the bank's operations.
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders (including business leaders, project manager and SMEs) and external stakeholders (including vendors and service providers) to support business operations and promote alignment with the bank's objectives and SLAs.
  • Management of operational professionals and provide guidance, coaching and support to improve colleagues' delivery quality.
  • Management and development of KPIs to measure the effectiveness of operation functions, utilising data and technology to support the identification of areas that require improvement.
  • Compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies related to customer experience.
  • Creation of a safe environment for colleagues to speak up, actively and regularly encourage and solicit feedback to ensure people agenda remains focused on the right areas.
  • Management of attrition by working closely with HR in implementing retention initiatives for work force.
