Join a dynamicglobal security engineering team of 13 based in Manchester, with colleagues in India and the US. This is a project-focused role, where you’ll be assigned to design and implement security applications. You’ll collaborate with end users, stakeholders, and vendors to create implementation documentation and testing plans, ensuring smooth handover to operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing security solutions for endpoint and cloud environments
  • Working closely with other engineers on complex projects
  • Driving security best practices across global teams

To be successful as a security engineer, you should have experience with:

  • Experience with scripting and automation of solutions - Python, Bash, PowerShell
  • Experienced with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) approach to systems management (have they automated common tasks or implemented dashboards for example, automation around testing) and DevOps pipelines for service delivery.
  • Experience with solutions design, testing, and implementation.

Other highly valued skills include:

  • Experienced with Cloud Security services and frameworks (AWS, Azure, GCP), cloud vulnerability management
  • Familiar with AI and Machine Learning security.
  • Familiar with threat hunting and incident response practices.

This role will be based out of our Knutsford campus.

Purpose of the role

To develop, implement and maintain solutions that support the safeguarding of the banks systems and sensitive information.

Accountabilities

  • Provision of subject matter expertise on security systems and engineering patterns.
  • Development and implementation of protocols, algorithms, and software applications to protect sensitive data and systems.
  • Management and protection of secrets, ensuring that they are securely generated, stored, and used.
  • Execution of audits to monitor, identify and assess vulnerabilities in the banks infrastructure/software and support the response to potential security breaches.
  • Identification of advancements in to support the innovation and adoption of new cryptographic technologies and techniques.
  • Collaboration across the bank, including developers and security teams, to ensure that cryptographic solutions align with business objectives, security policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Development/ Implementation and maintenance of Identity and Access Management solutions and systems.
