Join us as an "Analyst- Research BI & Analytics" at Barclays, where the overall purpose of the role is to understand the business model of Barclays Global Research and partner with key stakeholders to build analytical solutions that can solve business problems and drive insights, produce analytics solutions, regular and ad hoc management information and exception reports, involving the integration of data from multiple sources and presenting data using relevant BI and analytics platforms like Tableau, Python, Adobe Analytics and SAP BO, drive delivery of key reports and help provide valuable business/monetization analysis for multiple stakeholders in research.

To be successful as an Analyst- Research BI & Analytics, you should have experience to:

  • Understanding the Global Research business and products we offer to our clients.
  • Supporting the Research BI & Analytics team in defining and delivering required analysis to stakeholders like Research Sales, Business Managers, Client Strategy and Product Management teams.
  • Supporting BAU reporting/data upload for client feeds and fixing issues that impact their delivery.
  • Driving initiatives around Marketing, Sales, Product & People Analytics by conceptualizing and delivering proof-of-concepts & final products.
  • Driving creation of aggregate tables on top of data sets from website tele-metrics data.
  • Delivering/Maintaining interactive tools and advanced dashboards by using Tableau, Business Objects, AWS and MS Excel.
  • Producing regular and adhoc reports/analysis using various datasets (related to interactions/meetings/publications).
  • Generating insightful analysis using statistical models in Python/R to drive recommendations to help business with monetization opportunities.
  • Partnering with IT and business to define data onboarding requirements and helping IT teams with UAT and signoffs.
  • Communicate directly with the stakeholders on a regular basis to discuss solutions proposed in terms of reports/ tools for continuous improvement.

  • Knowledge on working with Big Data sets on AWS using Presto/Spark.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of financial concepts such as equity and debt financial instruments.
  • Good communication skills (both verbal and written).

Other Important Skills:

  • Experience in data visualization and data analytics using Tableau (or similar BI tool) is must.
  • Strong experience in writing SQL/Impala.
  • Report development using SAP Business Objects.
  • Strong experience in writing Python.
  • Knowledge on working with Big Data sets on AWS using Presto/Spark.
  • Knowledge of Data-warehousing/Data Normalization concepts.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills.

This role will be based out of Nirlon Knowledge Park, Mumbai.

Purpose of the role

To produce and deliver Research with differentiated market insights and actionable ideas to Barclays Clients.

Accountabilities

  • Analysis of market, sector, corporate and/or economic data to help develop investment theses for your coverage universe to produce best in class Research.
  • Research may range from individual company or sector notes, through to long dated thematic reports.
  • Presentation of Research views to Barclays Clients; this can be through direct, face to face and virtual interactions, Research hosted events and written communications.
  • Engagement with Markets, Client Strategy and other stakeholders, to raise awareness of your Research both to Clients and internally. Prioritise interaction with the most relevant and valuable Clients for your Research.
  • Provision of insights and Research views to internal Clients to help them navigate financial markets and risks.
  • Collaboration with the Supervisory Analyst, Compliance and other stakeholders to ensure Research is produced and delivered to Clients and internal stakeholders in a compliant manner.
