Join the APAC Equity Derivatives Flow Vol , Automated Market Making (AMM) Technology Team in Hong Kong as a AVP Site Reliability Engineer primarily with Java, Python, Shell Scripting, Gitlab, Bitbucket, TeamCity along with highly scalable trading platform. You will join a team where the key focus is on building the robust and stable DevOps UAT and PRODUCTION environments with automation and technology of the AMM systems for our low latency product offering for giving low latency to sophisticated Equites Derivatives trading clients, mostly Hedge funds. In the role , you will automate and develop stability driven environment, engage in holistic simulation and testing of the trading system for high reliability, provide estimates for tasks including level 1 support, design, development, testing, support analysis, testing, operations teams, participate in code reviews and architectural decisions. You will work with dev team lead and developers, analyzing for appropriate technical solution and creating a technical specifications ,developing end to end technology solutions, system / performance testing ,fixing bugs coming out of System environment / UAT Environment testing , working to support DevOps integration, participate in post-project reviews in order to improve the project lifecycle where necessary. You will be interacting with both senior Front Office Trading and Sales stakeholders across multiple regions. You should be able to understand stakeholder issues / requirements, proactively participate in ongoing product enhancement discussions and provide informed inputs to help shape and evolve those discussions.

To be successful in the role, you should be:

  • University Graduate or above in Computer Science or related field

  • Several years of strong experience in a Production support / Trade floor support role

  • Minimum 2-3 years Equity Derivatives technology experience in a related front-office application support role within Investment banking

  • Experience in one or more Programming languages like Python, Scripting in Python/Shell/Perl, Java, and unit testing practices with experience working in a Linux environment,

  • Experience in Windows and UNIX platforms, Oracle PL/SQL, Autosys

  • Understanding of DevOps concepts and use cases, agile software development methodology

  • Understanding of higher-level Computer Science concepts such as data structures and algorithms, expertise in computer networks, computer architecture, and operating systems

  • ITIL knowledge

  • Equity Derivative product knowledge

  • Experience in supporting risk management system

This role is based in Hong Kong.

To apply software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response, to ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of the systems, platforms, and technology through them.

Accountabilities

  • Availability, performance, and scalability of systems and services through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and capacity planning.
  • Resolution, analysis and response to system outages and disruptions, and implement measures to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
  • Development of tools and scripts to automate operational processes, reducing manual workload, increasing efficiency, and improving system resilience.
  • Monitoring and optimisation of system performance and resource usage, identify and address bottlenecks, and implement best practices for performance tuning.
  • Collaboration with development teams to integrate best practices for reliability, scalability, and performance into the software development lifecycle, and work closely with other teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
