As Vice President – Large Holdings APAC Sr. Java Developer ,where you'll spearhead the evolution of developing and enhancing Large Holdings application for the Compliance business. End-to-end project delivery through Agile teams. Providing coaching and ensuring the adaptation of Agile & DevOps methodologies to the wider team and department. Working with development manager to agree release schedules. Providing regular updates to the development manager and stakeholders regarding progress.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
Proven experience with Java / J2EE technologies including Java frameworks such as Springs/Hibernates/Angular JS.
Strong in Core Java, Java 8+ features (Streams, Lambdas, Functional Interfaces).
Proficiency in Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Microservices architecture. Experience with RESTful APIs, JDBC, and ORM tools.
Familiarity with distributed caching (e.g. Coherence) and messaging systems (e.g., MQ).
Hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
Proven ability to lead large, distributed development teams.
Experience in mentoring senior engineers and fostering innovation and working for an Investment Bank.
Able to document system architectures and process flow.
Able to work well with IT developers in multiple locations and across other teams.
Knowledge of software development best practices and the software development life cycle using Agile methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving skills, able to shift priorities quickly.
Analytical skills – ability to investigate and resolve issues in a high-pressured environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be independent and creative in approach to problems and issues and be proactive.
BS or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Physics, Maths or other relevant subjects.
Some other highly valued skills may include:
Proven experience of working in the Compliance or Risk domains.
Good knowledge of Oracle and SQL queries
Confluence and JIRA for project and task tracking, Autosys for batch control.
Experience with software release/build processes (e.g., Continuous Integration, Automated Deployment, Test Driven Development, etc.)
Strong knowledge of Global Markets and awareness of global economic, regulatory and Compliance trends.
Specific knowledge of financial products such as Equities or Commodities.
Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and experience in designing and implementing case management or workflow automation systems.

Purpose of the role
To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Accountabilities
- Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
- Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
- Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
- Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
