As a Barclays Security Manager – Hong Kong, you’ll be accountable for the delivery of security to Barclays within your area of responsibility as part of overall Physical Security operating model. Your purpose is to deliver strategic decisions, display leadership and subject matter expertise through the delivery of dedicated, holistic, appropriate, and proportionate security protection to Barclays’ clients, colleagues, property, and assets.

  • Being the main point of contact for Hong Kong for all physical security services, security awareness, instilling culture of collective and individual accountabilities
  • Implementing Barclays Physical Security Policy, adherence to related Physical Security standards together with associated control measures within the area of responsibility
  • Conducting thorough Business Assurance checks to validate service delivery provided by outsourced security vendor
  • Determining, evaluating, mitigating, and reviewing physical security risks against known or perceived threats, duly reporting, and recording all risks and incidents appropriately
  • Leading and conducting investigations in financial and non-financial crime; respond to and investigate low level security incidents that don’t need senior management escalation
  • Supporting and facilitating security for VIP visits, devise and conduct a rolling program of in-depth security risk assessments; manage the implementation of remediation plans
  • Ensuring all contracts are compliant and dated, manage local security and Security Points of Contact, provide subject matter expertise for security related Incident Management
  • Developing and leading effective working relationship at the appropriate level with the vendor as well as work as the Supplier Risk Manager for vendors when required

What we’re looking for:

  • Detailed knowledge of physical design and operating models with sufficient depth to identify points of risk impacting on the safety and security of people, premise, and moveable assets
  • Good understanding of the physical security environment affecting the financial sector
  • Solid grasp of legal and regulatory security requirements across the region
  • Detailed knowledge of technical security systems, applications, and Industry Standards

Purpose of the role

To develop risk management strategies that support the protection of the bank's regional sites against a range of variables.

Accountabilities

  • Management of specialist security services to support the bank’s regions through site level security oversight activities including the execution of security risk assessments and the alignment of security objectives, contractor management to review the effectiveness of existing physical controls.
  • Implementation of security policies to ensure the effectiveness of existing security operations and controls such as the bank's systems, applications and networks.
  • Development and implementation of risk management strategies to identify and mitigate physical security risks, including access, fire and natural disasters, and implement security controls and provide training to colleagues to mitigate those risk.
  • Development of crisis management and contingency plans for the bank's facilities, evaluated through simulations, to demonstrate how colleagues should coordinate with stakeholders during a crisis.
  • Management of stakeholder relationship including colleagues, vendors and regulatory agencies to algin security operations with the bank's objectives.
