To be successful in this role, you should have experience with:

  • Identifying common or duplicative needs across SBU, Cluster & GTIS

  • Thinks outside of the box to support the business in delivering its strategic objectives rather than just responding to a pre-defined request,

  • Works with project managers and Global Technology Sourcing to advise on supplier and cost options, and to ensure that the validity of the overall solution is fully represented and considered in any RFI/RFPs process, or in the creation and evaluation of proof-of-concept solutions

  • Take responsibility for ensuring that solutions adhere to architectural and quality standards and policies.

  • Working with the relevant project manager and Lead Solutions Architect, responsible for ensuring that the outcomes delivered by projects are consistent with the original solution specified. This will be achieved by reviewing project design artefacts (e.g. Stage 1) and the impact of significant change requests.

  • Able to rationalize between different solution options in a complex environment and define pros and cons based on a driving force from a commercial, operational and technology viewpoint.

  • Responsible for creating technology solutions, and stage low costs to meet business requirements, in line with Cluster and Group IT Strategies and Architectures.

  • Work with supply chain (including external) as appropriate. Adding clarity to business requirements challenges business requirements and demands to ensure high quality candidate solutions are created.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • A very good broad understanding of a wide variety of technologies pertinent to Barclaycard, including emerging technologies. (e.g. AWS/Azure, Java, Adaptive and Responsive design, etc.)

  • Awareness of IT Security patterns, considerations, best practice.

  • Experience designing secure, scalable, highly available, resilient performance solutions.

  • Knowledge of Software delivery and deployment patterns (e.g. Continuous Delivery, Continuous Integration, etc.) with deep understanding of Enterprise Container Platforms (e.g. Docker)

  • Knowledge of different integration mechanisms (e.g. RESTful Web Services, ETL etc.)

  • Awareness of different data solutions and data architecture best practice (e.g. Mongo, Data Driven Design, etc.

  • Awareness of SCM, packaging and build tools –

  • Payments/ Acquiring domain knowledge preferred.

  • Appreciation of different Infrastructure patterns (e.g. Internet Facing Environment, Operational Data Stores, DMZ, etc.).

  • Good understanding of concepts of service delivery and support.

This role is based out of Pune.

Purpose of the role

To support the organisation, achieve its strategic objectives by the identification of business requirements and solutions that address business problems and opportunities.

Accountabilities

  • Identification and analysis of business problems and client requirements that require change within the organisation.
  • Development of business requirements that will address business problems and opportunities.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that proposed solutions meet their needs and expectations.
  • Support the creation of business cases that justify investment in proposed solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of proposed solutions.
  • Support the creation of reports on project progress to ensure proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Creation of operational design and process design to ensure that proposed solutions are delivered within the agreed scope.
  • Support to change management activities, including development of a traceability matrix to ensure proposed solutions are successfully implemented and embedded in the organisation.
