Key Responsibilities

  • Data-Driven Strategy Development:

    • Leverage advanced analytics, predictive modelling, and real-time performance monitoring to shape strategic decisions.

  • Insight Generation & Storytelling:

    • Transform raw data into clear, actionable insights and strategic stories that resonate with senior stakeholders.

    • Use frameworks such as Balanced Scorecard and NPS to optimise outcomes.

    • Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and best practices.

  • Risk & Control Management

    • Ensure robust governance and risk management.

    • Build strong relationships across Product, Operations, Risk, CDAO, Compliance

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong analytical capability with expertise in data modelling, visualisation, and interpretation.

  • Proven experience in strategy development and optimisation within a complex organisation.

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills to translate data into strategic narratives.

  • People leader/management experience

  • Ability to manage changing priorities with multiple stakeholders and deliver under tight timelines.

  • Nice to have - Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and their application in business strategy.

Critical / Essential Skills:

  • Deep expertise in process improvement (Lean, Six Sigma–DMAIC), including journey mapping, VA/NVA analysis, segmentation, solution design, pilots, and benefits realization.

  • Proven ability to define strategic vision and product/ transformation roadmaps, aligning with enterprise priorities and senior leadership direction.

  • Strong track record in governing and delivering multiple concurrent, business‑critical initiatives across product, operations and functional teams.

  • Solid understanding of emerging automation tools and modern digital enablement frameworks.

  • Hands-on exposure to RPA, OCR, workflow platforms, digital forms, digital comms, and practical application of Generative AI for process efficiency and innovation.

  • Demonstrated success in hyper‑automation delivery—pipeline creation, solution design, platform alignment, governance adherence, and lifecycle management.

  • Experience implementing technology and process change across omnichannel ecosystems (digital, voice, assisted channels) to drive CX, reduce effort and improve efficiency.

  • Strong knowledge of the product lifecycle, constructs, and operating models.

  • Ability to prioritize customer journeys and process improvements to maximize impact.

  • Experience in Retail Banking, balancing performance, risk, control, cost, and customer outcomes.

  • Awareness of best-in-class GenAI toolkits to drive productivity and operational excellence.

  • Experience in following Black Belt (Six Sigma) / Lean Engagement with hands-on transformation expertise.

  • Knowledge about agile, product life cycle, product knowledge – Retail Banking

  • Proficient in SAS, SQL, Teradata and MS office tools.

  • Analytical skills and experience in using statistical analysis techniques like Test-Control, forecasting, customer segmentation etc.

  • Team Management – Experience in leading cross skilled senior team members

  • Experience in building and leading high performing teams while focusing on operational continuity and resilience.

  • Stakeholder Management – Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders from credit, risk operations, legal and compliance teams and influence / negotiate for business cases and get the required approvals.

  • Strategic Thinking – Understanding of retail banking customer journeys and prioritization techniques

  • Strong Communication – Presenting business performance and proposals clearly to senior leadership and explaining complex scenarios simply to team members.

Purpose of the role

To lead and develop a highly engaged team, pioneering an omni channel experience to achieve consistently excellent customer outcomes. Build and maintain your team’s capability to deliver excellent customer outcomes through identifying, understanding, and meeting customer needs both internally and externally, using available tools and enablers to grow business performance.

Accountabilities

  • Customer service to create excellent customer satisfaction and positively influence NPS (Net Promoter Scores), act as an ambassador for Barclays externally and internally, creating connections and growth for customers.
  • Identification and maintenance of active performance management standards across the team, communicating to and inspiring colleagues to be commercially minded, achieve goals and expectations, measure them frequently and honestly to ensure personal growth and support early identification and intervention where required.
  • Day to day running of the business, using internal and external insights to develop an effective business plan, making evaluative judgments to support customers with their financial needs and drive long term sustainable revenue growth in your area.
  • Market research to understand market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to identify market opportunities.
