Managing Director – Wealth Management Tribe Lead (Digital Platform & Experience)
Role Purpose
Barclays Wealth Management is scaling its platform to serve a broader client base, close the advice gap, and deliver a market-leading digital wealth experience across advised and self-directed journeys.
The Wealth Management Tribe Lead (Managing Director) is responsible for end-to-end delivery of the Wealth platform and client journeys, bringing together Product, UI/UX, Customer Experience (CX), Data Science, and Digital Design to deliver intuitive, insight-led outcomes for clients and colleagues at scale.
This role translates business priorities into high-quality platform execution, ensuring that innovation, client experience, and operational integrity are embedded across the Wealth proposition.
Key Accountabilities
1. Wealth Platform & Journey Delivery
- Own the end-to-end delivery of the Wealth platform and core client journeys.
- Translate business priorities into clear product roadmaps and delivery outcomes.
- Ensure delivery of a scalable, stable, and continuously improving platform.
2. Client Experience, UI/UX & Digital Design
- Champion best-in-class UI/UX and CX across all Wealth journeys.
- Embed Digital Design practices into product development from concept to delivery.
- Ensure journeys are intuitive, consistent, and aligned to client needs and behaviours.
3. Data Science & Insight-Led Delivery
- Leverage Data Science and analytics to inform prioritisation and optimisation of journeys.
- Drive insight-led improvements to client experience and platform performance.
- Enable personalisation and data-driven decision making across the platform.
4. Product & Agile Delivery Leadership
- Lead a multi-disciplinary Tribe including Product Owners, UX/UI, Data, and delivery teams.
- Drive clear prioritisation, pace, and accountability across squads.
- Provide transparency on progress, risks, dependencies, and trade-offs.
5. Cross-Functional Execution
- Partner with Technology, Barclays UK, Strategy, Operations, Risk, Distribution, Marketing, and Business leadership to deliver aligned outcomes.
- Ensure a joined-up end-to-end proposition across all client and colleague touchpoints.
- Act as the link between business intent and execution.
6. Risk, Governance & Platform Integrity
- Own operational and regulatory integrity of the Wealth platform.
- Ensure robust controls, governance, and compliance across all journeys.
- Provide clear oversight of delivery health, risks, and client outcomes.
7. Leadership & Culture
- Build and lead a high-performing, cross-functional team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Develop capability across Product, Design, and Data disciplines.
Experience & Capabilities
- Proven MD-level leadership in digital platform, product, or transformation roles
- Deep experience across Product, UI/UX, CX, Digital Design, and Data-led delivery
- Strong track record of delivering complex, cross-functional change at scale
- Experience operating in regulated environments with strong governance requirements
- Ability to lead senior stakeholders and influence at ExCo level
- Strong focus on client outcomes, platform quality, and delivery excellence
Purpose of the role
To take responsibility for end-to-end local Platform management including – strategy design & execution, scalable and stable platform for client & colleagues, regulatory risk mitigation & management, platform development.
Accountabilities
- Business ownership of system, processes & procedures on the platform and end to end client journey management, oversight, business continuity & service recovery.
- Management, understanding and interpretation of local & group regulatory requirements & standards.
- Driving Platform strategy and change agenda, seeking innovative solutions to differentiate, streamline and de-risk the platform to directly contribute to client experience, Banker efficiency and managing / reducing regulatory risk.
- Using KPIs and data to monitor and measure of the platform effectiveness and change improvements.
- Managing, reporting and representing the platform performance at relevant governance fora.
- External (where required) and internal stakeholder management including regulators, senior leaders, client facing colleagues and infrastructure partners.
- Provision of guidance, coaching and support to improve colleagues' delivery quality.

- Influence company policy and develop functional procedures in conjunction with senior leaders / strategic positions across the business.
- Demonstrate interpretative thinking for innovative solutions in complex situations and conceptual thinking in completely new situations.
- Exercise management authority to make significant / complex business and strategic decisions that impact the Barclays Group, business division or function.
- Negotiate with and influence stakeholders at a senior level both internally and externally and foster growth for Barclays business.
- Mandated as the business division/ functional spokesperson or representative to external bodies and shapes the public image of Barclays.
- Demonstrate exceptional knowledge of how business divisions and functions integrate with the Group to achieve the overall business objectives alongside industry theories and practices within own discipline.
- Maintain broad and comprehensive functional expertise and significant product knowledge.
- Accountable for the control and governance agenda of the business division / function.
- Focus on the external environment, regulators, or advocacy groups to both monitor and influence on behalf of Barclays.
