Join us as Markets Specialist, where you will lead and oversee the day-to-day Clearing & Settlement operations for Private Bank India. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient trade processing, settlement, regulatory compliance, operational risk management, and stakeholder engagement while driving process improvements and operational excellence across the Broking Operations function.

  • Possess strong expertise in broking operations, clearing and settlement processes, and securities market regulations.
  • Demonstrate leadership capabilities in managing operational teams and delivering results in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.

  • Be capable of identifying operational risks, implementing controls, and driving continuous process improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of business activities and regulatory compliance.

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in any discipline with relevant experience in Broking Operations.
  • Experience in stock broking operations.
  • Strong knowledge of SEBI regulations and Exchange guidelines applicable to stock broking firms.
  • Hands-on experience in trade processing, trade settlement, securities settlement, accounting, exchange reporting, and MIS reporting.
  • Working knowledge of UCC, OTR, Pay-in, Pay-out, Margins, Position Limits, and Margin Utilization.
  • Experience in managing operational risk, regulatory reporting, and handling regulator-related queries.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.

Desirable Skills/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Broking, Depository Operations, Business Process Design, and Process Analysis.
  • Knowledge of operational risk frameworks, risk mitigation controls, and governance processes.
  • Experience in driving process efficiencies, automation initiatives, and scalable operational solutions.
  • Ability to lead people initiatives including skill development, cross-training, colleague engagement, and team development.
  • Strong focus on quality, accuracy, resilience, and delivery excellence.

Job location is Mumbai.

Purpose of the role

To support clients during the life cycle of their trade, from order entry to settlement. Take client trade instructions, resolve issues/queries related to client trading activities, assist with external and internal client queries, and work with colleagues across the business to deliver excellent investment servicing for clients.

Accountabilities

  • Trade Capture: Responsible for taking client trade instructions across various asset types (e.g. Equities, Fixed Income, Funds inc. ETFs) and follow process to capture those trades in Barclays systems

  • Responsible for achieving world class client service in accordance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and key business drivers

  • Operations / Settlement / Trade Placement Liaison: Know the relevant teams to engage within the internal end to end process of each investment type, so as to ensure that internal and external clients know the status of any trade, or any matter related to the life cycle of their investment. Be able to explain or relay to a client information relating to the asset types supported by the team, from either their own pool of knowledge or by contacting the relevant parties within the business to find the best resolutions and answers for our clients.

  • Risk Mitigation: Prioritisation of order entry based on type, size, and market conditions; Reporting on transactions that are deemed to be suspicious, including potential market abuse. Adherence to Advice boundaries; Reviewing and updating procedures; Meeting service levels and quality benchmarks.
