What will you be doing?

Barclays Services Corp. seeks Senior Software Engineer in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):

  • Build re-usable components using well structured, high quality and performing code for real-time integration of reference data (counterparty, client, account, and book) into trade processing, ensuring seamless data flow across systems.

  • Drive end-to-end project delivery—managing timelines, guiding a small team through iterative development cycles, conducting thorough code reviews, and mentoring junior developers

  • Understand Financial domain-based System design and is able to extend system architecture and Automate business process ensuring that these systems support stringent regulatory requirements and audit trails

  • Identifies and escalates issues and risks in a timely manner to the development/project manager so that project risk can be mitigated with minimal impact

  • Design and propose module to Tech Forums with well-defined timelines

  • Leverage MongoDB and SQL databases to manage unstructured trade data and generate reports for regulatory compliance.

  • Design modular services and RESTful APIs to support trade lifecycle events, including data enrichment and reconciliation of reference data. Design and propose module to Tech Forums with well-defined timelines

  • Deploy and scale services on AWS (EC2, Lambda, CloudWatch) to ensure availability and monitoring of reference data systems in a cloud environment.

  • Implement automated deployment pipelines and maintain high-availability systems to support mission-critical financial operations.

Minimum Salary: $189,592 per year

Maximum Salary: $195,000 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
