To be successful in this role, you should have below skills:
Hands-on implementation of changes; from creating solution and writing code; to delivering release into production.
Proficient in software engineering with a focus in Java, Golang, Spring & Spring Boot frameworks and with databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
Experience in utilizing DevOps tools such as Git, GitLab for automating build, test, and deployment pipelines.
Familiarity with building infrastructure as code (CloudFormation/Terraform) solutions for AWS based applications and container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes or AWS ECS with EC2/Fargate.
Manage software tool ingestion into Developer Tooling using Jenkins pipeline and Golang ingestion application, understanding and transforming the tools into portable archive format
Design, develop and maintain automated pipelines to standardize the ingestion and packaging of developer tooling related to major languages, cloud and modern application development.
Write and manage configuration in Developer Tooling to control how software tools are installed and configured on end user devices
Create Docker images combining ingested software tools into builder images to run application CICD pipelines in GitLab
Create Docker images combining ingested software tools into application runtime base images
Own, manage and support Docker Desktop product across Barclays
Download and create SCCM packages of software tools for use across Barclays
Design, implement and maintain mechanism for delivering and evergreening Visual Studio on end user devices

Produce and maintain user facing documentation for Developer Tooling applications to ensure high levels of uptake
Prepare materials and conduct training sessions on Developer Tooling applications to ensure high levels of uptake
Design, develop and maintain metrics reports and dashboards to show Developer Tooling applications usage and trends
Design, develop and maintain Go CLI application for delivering software tools to Barclays developer devices
Participate collaboratively in team peer reviews of code and design
Participate in team knowledge sharing and presentations

Accountabilities
- Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
- Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
- Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
- Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
