As a Process Operations Technician Apprentice at our Beaumont, TX site, you will make an impact on the world with a fundamental focus on sustainability. As a Process Operations Technician Apprentice, you will be a part of a team which produces crop protection products and more!

Starting on or about January 6th, 2025, you…

Will continue an academic Process Operating Technology program at the Lamar Institute of Technology while working and learning on site in our Beaumont, TX site from some of the best in the business. During your time here we don’t want you to sweat the small stuff so BASF will cover the entire cost of your educational program, including books!

While in the BASF apprenticeship program you will have opportunity to...

Work hands-on in our Beaumont, TX supporting the production of crop protection products by learning to:

  • Load and unload of trucks and railcars.
  • Take ownership of company safety regulations and issues work permits when required
  • Monitor DCS and maintains control of process.
  • Receive and act upon supervisor instructions.
  • Notify supervisor of abnormalities and corrective measures taken
  • Notify supervisor of the status of assigned area including work requests, lists for overhauls and shutdowns through verbal communication and written logs.
  • Communicate status of assigned area to relief.
  • Cross train to be ready to cover all other operator positions in other areas as requested by Supervisor
  • Keep abreast of operating and equipment changes made in assigned area
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all equipment and operations, especially procedures for emergency shutdown and start-up.
  • Coordinate efforts with operating personnel in related functions including assisting other operators in their areas and assisting in training of other operators.
  • Coordinate mechanical activities in assigned area including clearing and tagging equipment prior to mechanical work, following job progress, and accepting equipment upon completion of work, including satisfactory housekeeping.
  • Maintain control of process.
  • Catch samples for laboratory testing.
  • Receive, interpret, and acts upon analytical results to keep process within parameters.
  • Maintain daily log on waste storage areas.
  • Maintain daily record of leaks until repaired.
  • React immediately to any leaks or spills and report to supervisor as soon as possible.
  • May be required to work with waste that is deemed to be hazardous by RCRA or other regulation.

If you...

  • Have a HS Diploma or GED
  • Can work in a plant environment and lift 50lbs
  • Can work 12hr fixed shifts (day OR night/weekends and holidays)
  • Will continue an academic degree program to launch a career in manufacturing
  • Can work on different structure levels, requiring the climbing of stairs, walking on metal walkways and grating, working at heights, etc., as well as being able to work in areas both inside and outside in varying weather conditions.
