We are looking for a Production Area Leader - Dry Prod/Waste to join our Agricultural Solutions team in Sparks, GA.

The Production Area Leader is a member of the Extended Leadership Team at the Sparks Site and is responsible for supervising, coordinating and planning for production activities across different production units. The Area Leader demonstrates effective decision making, maintains high performance standards, and is responsible for safety, product quality, and production performance to schedules in assigned units. The Area Leader will partner with stakeholder functions across the site to ensure that all materials, documentations and equipment needed for production of high-quality products, are made available in a safe and timely manner.

The Production Area Leader is the first line contact with their direct reports regarding conflict resolution, skill development, and adherence to all functions including safety, environmental, quality, and productivity and to ensure efficient process operations with budget cost.

As a Production Area Leader -Dry Prod /Waste, you create chemistry by...

  • Supervising up to 18 direct reports within the Multipurpose Plant (MPP), Middle Flowable, and Waste Management units.
  • Ensuring that all activities are performed in accordance with all BASF and OSHA safety policies and requirements.
  • Coordinating with supply chain planners and warehouse supervisors to prioritize production schedules and ensure effective implementation of those schedules.
  • Developing and documenting procedures for startups, shutdowns, and product changeovers, and coordinating with production shift supervisors for effective execution.
  • Initiating MOCs before implementing changes across the production units.
  • Working with ESH specialists on safety and environmental requirements, as needed.
  • Evaluating equipment capabilities, identifying process bottlenecks, and developing plans to resolve constraints.

If you...

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, or related fields with 10 years of manufacturing experience OR 14 years of manufacturing experience with a High School diploma.
  • Bring two or more years of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Possess some experience with root cause analysis.
  • Demonstrate good computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Have some SAP experience.
  • Previous experience with digitalization, a plus.
  • Exhibit the ability to develop and document operating procedures.
  • Are a proactive self-starter capable of working with limited supervision.
  • Showcase good problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly address and resolve issues.
  • Exhibit good communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate employees.
