The job vacancy will be under our new legal entity, BASF COATINGS VIETNAM CO., LTD. (BCVL).

OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION

  • Oversee all Finance and Controlling activities to ensure legitimacy with Local Requirements (Vietnamese Accounting standards and Tax regulations)
  • Conduct business analysis and provide recommendation for enhancement.
  • Ensure the completeness of operational planning process.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACTIVITIES

Compliance

  • Design, ensure, and maintain appropriate internal control systems for reporting and tax according to BASF and local requirements.
  • Lead, coordinate, and ensure timely updates and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines. Ensure the company's policies, procedures, guidelines, and practices meet the relevant BASF or local requirements by liaising closely with relevant BASF personnel, relevant local authorities, and other advisors or consultants. Document, communicate, and maintain finance, tax, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Enhance awareness of relevant BASF policies and legal requirements and monitor compliance thereto.
  • Prepare and ensure timely submission and reconciliations of qualified reports/data to internal and external authorities: e.g., VAT, CIT, WHT, etc.; quarterly notes for tax items of BASF reporting, CbCR reporting for tax items.
  • Lead to update changes in local GAAP and tax regulations and implement the changes.

Operational excellence

  • Implement effective finance, and tax in line with sales strategies and local market practices to support business requirements.
  • Provide insight to resolve operational issues, inefficiencies, and queries.
  • Manage and interact with GB Hub, auditors, tax advisors and local authorities to enhance/protect the interests of the company. Lead and coordinate internal and external audits and tax audits.
  • Play the role of FRC coordinator, and focal point of IFAS for Vietnam.
  • Administer and prepare bank documentation (e.g., hedging, deposits, bank guarantees, banking facilities, funding), signatories, and user access rights.
  • Play the role of expense processor.
  • Coordinate for the completion of physical fixed assets verification.
  • Coordinate the transfer pricing documentation with external consultants.

Financial Controlling

  • Provide guidance and advice on direct and indirect tax matters (e.g., CIT, VAT & WHT) applicable in Vietnam for business transactions or investments.

Business Controlling

  • Ensure data accuracy and reliability in local ERP as well as BW system.
  • Foster the role of controlling as a business partner for Local Business Management (LBM) and entire organization by carrying out relevant profitability analyses and cost reviews to constantly improve the business results.
  • Set up and maintain an early warning system in case of any deviation from the budget / KPI and address these deviations timely with LBM and business personnel.
  • Ensure accurate provision data (for e.g., rebates, commissions) based on existing contracts.
  • Ensure correct product costing for local production to support LBM, business personnel to make valid and sustainable business decision.
  • Ensure correct cost allocation of direct/indirect cost, local and sub region/region cost and challenge / change misallocations.
  • Ensure overall accurate profitability statement.
  • Prepare valid forecast and operational planning data as scheduled; align budget data with LBM, platform, and business HQ.
  • Manage the annual operational planning process with coordinating, challenging, and guiding the local business management team.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent professional qualifications.

  • Chief Accountant certificate

  • 7 years of relevant working experience in MNCs with international manufacturing and trading operations, preferably with a finance-shared service center environment.

  • Experiences in business partnering or financial planning and analysis roles are preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of local accounting practices, the Vietnamese Accounting Standards and System, Vietnamese tax regulations, and related statutory requirements.

  • Knowledge of relevant international financial and reporting standards.

  • Hands-on knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems is advantageous.

  • Good command of English and Excel skills.
