Objectives of the Position:
This position will drive all the activities relating to the regional product safety and stewardship in Asia Pacific region engaging with R&D, production, sales, marketing, product managers and country experts.
Main Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities:
①New Substance Coordinator
It plays a crucial role in ensuring that chemical substances used in various industries are properly registered and compliant with regulations. Their responsibilities often include a combination of administrative, regulatory, and scientific tasks.
1. Regulatory Compliance: The coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all chemical substances are registered in accordance with national and international regulations mainly in Asia. This involves staying updated with the latest regulations and amendments.
2. Data Management: The coordinator manages and maintain databases that contain information on substances, including their chemical properties, safety data sheets (SDS), and registration documents. This includes data entry, verification, and ensuring data accuracy.
3. Documentation Preparation: The coordinator prepares and submits registration dossiers to regulatory bodies, which includes compiling necessary scientific data, risk assessments, and safety information. The role often liaises with internal scientists and external consultants to gather and verify this data.
4. Communication and Liaison: A key part of their role involves communication with various stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, internal departments (such as R&D), and external partners. The role may represent the organization in discussions with regulatory authorities and industry groups.
5. Training and Support: The coordinator may provide training and support to staff on compliance matters, helping other departments understand the implications of regulations on their work.
6. Monitoring Changes: The role is tasked with monitoring changes in legislation that may affect the substances used by the organization, advising on necessary actions to maintain compliance.
7. Audit and Inspection Support: The coordinator prepares for and supports regulatory audits and inspections, ensuring that all necessary documentation is in place and that the organization is ready to demonstrate compliance.
8. Project Management: The role may lead or participate in projects aimed at improving the registration process or developing new products, ensuring that regulatory considerations are integrated from the early stages of product development.
②Korea REACH Coordinator
This role is responsible for overseeing and managing the registration process and compliance with Korea REACH regulations within the designated business unit. This role involves coordinating with various internal departments, external stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to ensure the timely and accurate submission of registration dossiers and compliance with all relevant requirements.
1. Monitoring & Internal guidance: Stay up to date with the latest developments and requirements of Korea REACH regulations and related legislation. Develop and implement strategies to ensure compliance with Korea REACH regulations within the business unit. Provide guidance and support to internal teams regarding Korea REACH compliance, including training on regulatory requirements and best practices.
2. Internal communication: Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including R&D, regulatory affairs, supply chain, and other relevant departments, to collect and compile the necessary data and information for registration. Collaborate with external consultants, testing laboratories, and other service providers to obtain the required data and conduct necessary tests or studies.
3. Registration & collaboration: Prepare and submit registration dossiers to the appropriate regulatory authorities within the specified timelines. Monitor and track the status of registrations, including any requests for additional information or clarification from regulatory authorities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address any compliance issues or gaps identified during the registration process.
- Education:
A degree in chemistry, environmental science, toxicology, or a related field is typically required.
- Working Experience:
7 years or more of relevant working experience in chemical regulations and/or Product Safety & Stewardship.
- Technical & Professional Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of chemical regulations and compliance processes.
Excellent organizational and communication skills to manage multiple projects and liaise with various stakeholders effectively.
Proficiency in data management and familiarity with relevant software tools.
Analytical skills to assess risks and understand complex scientific data.
