Objectives of the Position
- Provide professional and efficient HR Business Partnering services to the designated business units in the company in a generalist role that will support the business and people development objectives.
- Works closely with local leaders and people managers, to identify the critical business/organizational needs, challenges and people trends; develops and implements appropriate HR programs/solutions in close co-operation with relevant HR colleagues within BASF Group to support the business objectives and overall organization strategies
- Effectively manage special projects assigned in HR area in line with the project deliverables and manage all stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are communicated effectively.
- Works with people leaders to address all types of industrial relations topics, in compliance with local laws & regulations as well as HR policies and guidelines
Main Tasks
- Provide Country HR Generalist support and advice for defined business units, acting as a key interface for management and staff as aligned with the Business and Corporate Strategy.
- Build and maintain a relationship as trusted HR partner with key stakeholders within BASF Malaysia office.
- Coach manager and employees on people matters including performance, terminations, disciplinary issues, career development, covering office and production site employees
- Manage and execute BASF HR framework incl. annual salary review, performance management, talent forum, succession planning, talent program nomination etc.
- Discuss with people leaders to identify training & development and succession needs. Partner with the Center of Expertise (CoE) on Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development and Compensation & Benefits as subject matter experts to design and execute your strategy for how the business staffs, on-boards, develops, motivates, retains and organizes work
- Review key HR transaction and operations that’s to be processed by the Share Service Center (KL Hub) including merit cycle, employee data maintenance, contract management, sales incentive computation etc.
- Foster employee engagement/motivation by promoting recognition and regular employee communication within Malaysia
- Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve HR excellence and designated business units’ satisfaction
- Process operational tasks along the HR Processes and identify areas for process improvement, automation, to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the HR team as a whole
- Works closely with internal HR colleagues within Malaysia (BMS & BASC)
Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position
- Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management or a related discipline
- Fluent English and Bahasa Melayu both in written and spoken. Able to converse in other languages is an added advantage.
- Minimum 6 years of professional HR experience in a multinational company environment, specifically in HR generalist and/or business partnering areas
- Solid experience and knowledge in local HR practices and statutory requirement
- Solid HR advisory experience across multiple groups
- Proven record of driving and implementing people initiatives
- Understanding of local, state and federal and employment labor laws, employee relations and HR operations
