Objectives of the Position
The Project Management Senior Specialist (henceforth Senior Specialist) will coordinate and manage local project activities for Product Safety Asia Pacific (PSAP) within the BASF-wide strategic projects. In addition, the Senior Specialist will oversee other PSAP projects, playing a pivotal role in driving stakeholder engagement, fostering collaboration, and ensuring that all project objectives are achieved in alignment with the organization’s strategic goals. Furthermore, he/she will take ownership of specific topics, serving as a Champion for the PSAP team within the global/regional community related to these subjects.
Main Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities
- Collaborate closely with PSAP expert users and Operations team in managing and coordinating project activities effectively
- Develop a Change Management Strategy to ensure business readiness and alignment with global/regional project timelines.
- Lead project planning efforts by defining the scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines to facilitate successful implementation.
- Identify and engage key stakeholders to secure their support and involvement throughout the change process, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
- Conduct impact assessments to evaluate how changes will affect stakeholders, processes, and systems within the organization.
- Design and oversee training programs to equip team members and stakeholders with the necessary skills to adapt to changes.
- Develop and implement communication plans that effectively convey information about changes, including objectives, benefits, and progress updates.
- Proactively identify potential risks associated with projects and develop mitigation strategies, assisting the team in resolving issues and roadblocks promptly.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by gathering stakeholder feedback and refining change management processes and strategies.
- Maintain thorough documentation of project progress, outcomes, and lessons learned, providing regular updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of change initiatives across the organization.
- Lead the knowledge management framework within the team, encouraging proactive knowledge sharing and continuous learning. Facilitate community exchanges within and across regions for key stakeholders across business units
- Establish metrics for measuring the success of change initiatives, monitor progress, and report on performance, recommending adjustments as needed.
- Monitor project progress and track milestones, developing relevant documentation, tracking tools, dashboards, and presentations to ensure transparency and engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, IT or a related field.
- Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or Change Management is a preferred.
Working Experience
- Minimum of 5 years in project management roles, particularly in change management contexts.
- Experience in large-scale IT projects, demonstrated track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in the Product Safety or Chemical regulatory compliance field is highly desirable.
Technical & Professional Knowledge
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools, including Agile and Waterfall.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrates strong leadership qualities with a proven ability to inspire and guide team members effectively through periods of change.
- Strong problem-solving skills and strategic thinking, while managing operational details.
- Proficient in creating comprehensive documentation for project and change management activities, establishing best practices for consistency, accessibility, and clarity.
- Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership and accountability, proactively taking responsibility for actions and outcomes.
- Proficiency in using collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, SharePoint) to facilitate teamwork and communication.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility and resilience.
