About The Role

  • To plan and direct sales & marketing activities in a specific country to achieve agreed sales volume, pricing and selling cost objectives by implementing consistently the overall sales strategy, using technical, organizational and customer knowledge
  • Provide inputs and participate in the marketing, market planning and technical development of products and services
  • Manage business of global key accounts, regional key accounts and local accounts with suitable business model to ensure customer satisfaction and reasonable cost to serve
  • Optimize business model to maximize on business potential capture with less of complexity & cost optimization
  • Ensure of operating business under country regulations and BASF compliance standard
  • Identification of new businesses, analysis and realization of profitable, strategic opportunities

How You Will Do It

Implementation of sales strategies

  • Improve commercial results of product portfolio according to the strategies via product promotion/ introduction, proposals of marketing plans, analysis of and proposal of sales/ distribution channels, pricing proposals, analysis of market to support decision on future product development strategies

Define customer needs and product application to enhance achievements of sales targets

  • Conduct market research via visits, calls, interviews etc. to identify and understand customers’ expectations and needs. Develop lists of potential customers after research of the data
  • Establish and maintain industry contacts that lead to sales
  • Provide inputs to determine the application of the agreed product and service by evaluating product and service marketability and customers’ technical needs
  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical development that effect target markets
  • Work with the R&D, customer service and logistics personnel to establish a communication path with the customer to ensure sales opportunities for product and services.

Customer management

  • Maintain direct contact with customers’ key personnel and work with customers and internal functions to resolve problems/ expedite matters
  • Participate in meetings for customer problem resolution
  • Direct flow of information for sales activities ad transactions (leads, billings, order, contracts) and evaluate data to ensure assigned sales goals are met

Sales development

  • Develop sales and marketing proposals to trace customers’ needs on consumption analysis, product/service performance, technical services needs
  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of market activities, industry trends and recommend to supervisor modification/ changes of strategies/ practices.
  • Make regular sales calls/visits to develop professional relationship and follow up on needs with the aim to close deals and finalize contracts

Product promotion

  • Deliver and/or participate sales presentations/ workshop/ trade road show/workshops to promote/ introduce products/services
  • Credit management
  • Conclude sales contracts according to company credit policies and provide customer information as inputs to F&A (Finance and Accounting) to support revision of credit policies
  • Work closely with the personnel responsible for account receivable to ensure that the customers honor the sales contract terms
  • Provide customer credit information for company credit control function, ensure timely payment of receivables to meet established sales targets and revenue goal

Market intelligence

  • Evaluate market trends, the application of products/technology, the service needs, intelligence on competitors, etc to identify new business opportunities

What We Look For

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in business, commercial or other related fields
  • Minimum 5 years above of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of the Food & Dietary Supplement Industry e.g., size, current situation, and future scenarios; key players, competitors, and other stakeholders; and regulatory and other statutory requirements
  • Strong ability for analytical and strategic thinking
