Objectives of the Position

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Business Service Asia Pacific, you will:

  • Manage projects delivery of roll-out services to BASF group companies and ensure services are in accordance with established processes and work procedures and in compliance with BASF policies and local company legal and statutory requirements.
  • Provide guidance and work with delivery teams to determine and manage scope of work, timeline and budget of project delivery.
  • Resolve issues via interaction with key stakeholders and development of solutions.


Job Responsibilities

Project Delivery

  • Undertake assigned projects and monitor both project and staff performance, and implement corrective action when needed
  • Work closely with other service streams and the local country platform to ensure smooth project delivery
  • As subject matter expert, provide hands-on support when required and proactively ensure project queries are resolved. Inform stakeholders about critical issues on a timely manner
  • Provide support to team members resolving project issues including communication with project sponsors, and other project members

Continuous Improvement

  • Understand regional and country specific requirements for project delivery. Review the existing processes, infrastructure, team setup, project reporting approach and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Maintain and improve the knowledge database of projects implemented, frequently analyze occurring issues and seek for sustainable solutions to facilitate continuous learning, development and cross sharing of knowledge throughout the team
  • Identify cross-functional improvement opportunities by cooperating with internal and external teams
  • Continuous consultation with respective service delivery team and the relevant regional functions and local country platform involved in project delivery to ensure successful implementation across the region

Team Management

  • Form a high-performing operational team and create an environment that is conducive to ideas and utilizes learning from experience and provide guidance as a compelling leader
  • Deliver high quality work by ensuring roles and responsibilities are defined and knowledge is transferred within the team
  • Hold regular individual performance review and provide feedback and coaching within the group and/or individual team member
  • Facilitate open communication and proactively manage team’s motivation and morale

Compliance and Quality Management

  • Ensure team members’ awareness and compliance to relevant policies, processes and procedures

Reporting

  • Maintain monthly report in collaboration with relevant teams that accurately reports the project performance
  • Oversee the demand plan maintenance which enables teams to predict the resource requirement for incoming project, enhancement and support activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology or related discipline
  • Minimum 4 to 6 years of project management experience with 2 years of supervisory/project lead exposure
  • Track record in leading and managing a complex work group of about 10 – 60 people; managing operations of a Shared Service Center and/or Global Business Services is of advantage
  • Profound knowledge of SAP S4 HANA and its processes as well as experience in implementation is of advantage
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), SCRUM Master or other similar professional qualification related to Project Management is of advantage
  • Some knowledge in ERP systems implementation methodology and supply chain process are of advantage
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Good in written and spoken English, knowledge of any other Asian language is of advantage
  • Occasional traveling is required
