Objectives of the Position

Runs Product Safety tasks and provide on-demand services in the purposes of ensuring legal compliance and commitment of corporate conformance:
• Act as central contact point in Korea related to Chemical Regulations and Trade Control
• Implement procedures as per requirements of BASF Group guidelines and local/global regulations and optimize processes
• Provide Business Units with demanded services required for compliance
• Optimizes resources, cost and service demands for high quality deliverables and efficiently manage the team
• keep confidentiality in handling various information related to substances and products in communication with other BASF group companies.


Main Tasks

Regulatory Affairs
• Ensure license to operate and to run business in compliance with legal regulations in Korea
• Monitor regulatory changes and amendments of responsible legal regulations in Korea
• Keep update of business licenses and certificates
• Initiation of advocacy activities for identified needs

K-REACH joint registrations of existing substances in charge
• Participation in joint registration with BASF’s registration strategy, as lead or active
• Technical evaluation of data gap analysis and securing data and classification consistency
• Communication with OD substance coordinators to setup and maintain substances per Tier
• Regular reporting of registration progress and key issues to stakeholders

Consulting service of Product Safety
• Expert service on regulatory issues to support business in Korea with expertise
• Plan and conduct trainings to BASF employees for compliance with legal requirements as well as BASF guidelines
• Support customer inquiry and provide training or consultation to external customers upon identified needs
• Work with Product Safety community for gap analysis and support business’ needs.
• Improvement, changes and troubleshooting of the SAP system as a coordinator

* Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or relevant area.
• Working Experience: At least 3 years working experience in related field.
• Proficient English-speaking and writing ability and Native level of Korean

• Technical & Professional Knowledge: Good communication and management skill, familiar with local chemical legislations and legal requirements.
