The position of AgSolutions Key Farm Account Manager (AKFAM) within BASF’s Agricultural Division combines deep expertise of the sales process, broad agronomic understanding and extensive product/industry knowledge with elements of account management, finance and logistics to promote industry leading innovation to Key Farm Accounts within the assigned territory in Western Canada. In addition, the role envisages the development, cultivation and maintenance of strong business relationships, ensuring BASF is positioned as a preferred strategic partner to this exclusive group of grower customers that operate large farms in excess of 25K acres.
As a AgSolutions Key Farm Account Manager, you create chemistry by...
- Coordinating specific efforts of sales and technical services professionals to collaborate effectively with retail representatives, account managers, marketing and CST to ensure successful execution of business plans at grower, retail and strategic account level for Key Farm Accounts.
- Cooperating and closely coordinating actions and plans with the Regional Sales Managers across multiple regions and providing coaching to the extended AgSolutions sales team who will support customer success and ensure achievement of sales and market share objectives for Key Farm Accounts.
- Building bespoke multi-year business plans and associated strategies for Key Farm Accounts by leveraging a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities faced by the individual Key Farm Accounts to provide value beyond products and agronomy for consistent sales growth and increased share of wallet.
- Building and sustaining strong professional business relationships throughout the different levels of the customer’s farming operation, ensuring BASF is positioned as a strategic preferred supplier.
- Developing value-based sales strategies for Key Farm Accounts by conducting joint customer innovation events, competitor research and diligently observing market trends, emerging needs and opportunities.
- Utilizing technical and agronomic competency of the innovative BASF product portfolio to present a compelling value proposition of BASF brands within the context of the competitive product landscape.
- Closely cooperating with Strategic Account Managers/Retail Connect Account managers to understand and align product allocations, orders and associated logistics and forecasting to ensure priority access of products for Key Farm Accounts within the assigned territory.
If you have...
- A BA/BS in business, agriculture business or related discipline OR a 2-Year Diploma in the above fields and 2 years of industry-relevant experience.
- Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in sales or distribution roles.
- A demonstrated strong business acumen and understanding of the agricultural market, specifically the relationship, wants and needs of Key Farm Accounts.
- Demonstrated understanding of the retail partner network, and their business cycles, competitive relationships and environment.
Proven analytical skills, excellent communications, collaboration and interpersonal skills, as well as being highly motivated and goal oriented, with a proven record of goal attainment. - Ability for strategic thinking and planning skills required to ensure overall large grower accounts sales strategy can be accomplished to meet or exceed sales goals.
- Ability to self-manage time and resources and to allocate time and energy appropriately, resulting in achievement of goals.
