We are looking for a DevOps Engineer - Supply Chain Planning to join our Global Digital Services team in Mississauga, CA.

As a DevOps Engineer – Supply Chain Planning you will further develop our new Supply Chain Planning Framework and rollout our new Supply Chain Planning Framework to various business units in different countries, working with diverse stakeholders in supply chain and commercial teams. This position will give you the opportunity to further develop into the area of Supply Chain Planning software supported by artificial intelligence within an agile environment.

As a DevOps Engineer - Supply Chain Planning, you create chemistry by...

  • Beginning a structured and immersive training journey to adopt our new planning technology. This includes learning by doing, completing a comprehensive training cycle, and building OMP expertise across both functionalities and DevOps. Simultaneously, you'll gain rapid insight into BASF-specific processes and solutions.
  • Contributing to the evolution of BASF’s supply chain planning landscape by joining system squads focused on functional development, solution design, and system configuration. You’ll work closely with business units to shape tailored solutions, with a strong emphasis on OPR and the effective use of our OMP planning tool.
  • Operating in an agile environment, starting each day with stand-up meetings and taking ownership of user stories. Your responsibilities will span functional and technical design, configuration, testing (including UAT), debugging, documentation, and training key users across various business units and countries.
  • Delivering comprehensive support to live customers, including incident management, ticket resolution, and direct communication to understand issues, provide training, and offer technical assistance.
  • Supporting the implementation and configuration of external supply chain planning software OMP, while also checking critical SAP master and transactional data such as material master records, BOMs and demand and supply orders.
  • Ensuring data accuracy and consistency across planning systems to enable effective supply planning, forecasting, and execution. This includes collaborating with business users and data owners to validate and update master data, and supporting data integration and mapping between SAP and external planning tools.

If you have...

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • 3+ years’ experience in OPR and/or Supply Planning, with strong usage of planning tools such as OMP, SAP APO, GIB, or IBP. Includes process design, system functional design, configuration, and debugging.
  • Solid understanding of Supply Chain Planning processes, particularly in OPR or Supply Planning, as well as strong DevOps knowledge related to planning solutions like OMP, SAP APO, GIB, or IBP. Additional knowledge in Forecasting and/or Detailed Planning & Scheduling is highly valued.
  • Technical affinity for configuring and supporting cloud-based planning tools like OMP. Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, ABAP, OPAL, SQL) and basic debugging skills, including log analysis and transaction tracing.
  • Preferably a strong grasp of incident management, including triaging, root cause analysis, and resolution tracking. Experience using ticketing systems such as AzureDevOps, SAP Solution Manager, JIRA, or ServiceNow, will also be a plus.
  • Familiarity with SAP master and transactional data relevant to supply chain planning (e.g., material master, BOMs, Production Version).
  • Collaborative mindset with business users and data owners to validate and update data, and a customer-centric approach focused on proactive support and continuous improvement. Experience in agile way of working or agile implementation approach will be highly valued.
