GENERAL RESPONSIBLITIES:

EHS and Information protection:

Compliance and Code of Conduct:

• Actively represent BASF Group interests and act as a role model with regards to Compliance and Code of conduct, ensure adherence to legal regulations and the company’s internal guidelines as well CORE values and principles.

Strategy related focus:

• Be aware and support the implementation of the company strategies (both BU and Regional level) within one’s scope of responsibility.

• Promoting X-Bu sales and networking activities

Regional scope:

• Central Asia (focus in Kazakhstan)

MAIN TASKS:

Purpose of the Role:

Promote and differentiate BASF as a value-adding, technically excellent and professional customer focused company in the manufacture and supply of "Solutions" to the Mining Industry. Act as the key BASF representative on customer sites, managing relationships, service, product performance, and coordinate BASF support departments as required.

Principal Responsibilities

Formula for Success: You Will be Responsible For…

• Ensure sales targets (volumes, sales, profit) for assigned applications and defined sales area are met or exceeded.

• Increase sales of products to existing customers and develop new business and opportunities.

• Sustain and develop customer relationships and identify key customer contacts and decision makers.

• To support technical expert teams with arrangement, preparation and conduction of laboratory and industrial trials of products at customer sites

• Create and Maintain Account Concepts for main customers (inclusive Relationship Matrix, Customer Demand based on their needs, Measure plan for Growth, etc.).

• Proactively manage, maintain, and monitor supply of products to customers through accurate monthly forecasting to team lead / RSM and communication with Supply Chain.

• Manage maintenance of local stock including proactive handling of dysfunctional stock.

• Keep proactive control and handling overdue, credit management, credit blocks, storage, DSO etc.

• Generate customer reports for visits – to be uploaded in Salesforce and where required, load report or link onto global tech service SharePoint.

• Use Salesforce to plan and record customer interactions (i.e. emails) specifically including all visits, opportunities and contacts (for NPS) and foster team communication via chatter.

• Monthly reports fostered by frequent usage and internal communication via SalesForce.

• Maintain accurate and comprehensive customer pricing in the SalesForce CPQ system.

• Promote cross BU and segment selling into the mining and mineral processing market.

• Align customer contract content and negotiation closely with team lead and RSM.

• Collect Market Intelligence based on current and potential customers’ chemical demands, competitive behavior, local governmental regulations.

• Ensure personal EHS compliance - Think Safety, Act Safely, every day

• Manage Key accounts, and or BASF partners, distributors etc. assigned

• Provide support and mentoring to aid the development of technical and commercial competencies within organization.

• Mentor and coach sales team members, identify training needs and support development plans.

• Keep up to date on industry trends and technology development (e.g. process advancements).

WHAT YOU OFFER

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

Education:

  • University degree in Sales, Business, Chemistry, or Metallurgy required; MBA or equivalent is a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years in commercial sales, business development, or P&L ownership—preferably in the chemicals or mining industry.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience in mineral beneficiation; familiarity with SAP, Salesforce, and Microsoft Office.
  • Industry Knowledge: Existing network in the Central Asian mining sector is an advantage.
  • Skills: Strong problem-solving, multitasking, and team collaboration abilities. Willingness and capability to advise, coach and train less experienced colleagues in the team.
  • Mobility: Willing to travel up to 50% of the time, including internationally. Valid driver’s license required.
  • Languages: Fluent in English and Kazakh and/or Russian.
