WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

We will soon be founding a separate company in our Agricultural Solutions division, which would then also employ our employees on a permanent basis. To bridge the gap, you will be employed by BASF SE on a temporary basis with the simultaneous binding promise of permanent employment in the new company.

As a (Senior) Research Scientist in the field of drug discovery research, you support our Herbicides Chemistry team in the identification and development of highly effective, innovative chemical crop protection products.

• In your new position, you prepare the research results obtained in a clear manner and present them in an appropriate form.
• In addition, you closely follow current market trends and competitor activities, evaluate their relevance for BASF and derive appropriate recommendations for new applications.
• The clarification of technical, patent and chemical law as well as economic requirements for projects and product developments in cooperation with the specialist departments is also part of your area of responsibility.
• You demonstrate your commitment in international and interdisciplinary teams and are responsible for the projects you work on.
• Furthermore, maintaining networks with scientific partners is part of your area of activity.
• Last but not least, you are responsible for the independent professional management of the assigned employees, including conducting appraisal interviews.

WHAT YOU OFFER

• PhD in chemistry
• expertise in organic chemical synthesis
• knowledge in medicinal chemistry, human or animal physiology is an advantage
• experience with common analytical and testing methods as well as with the general processes in the research laboratory
• very good communication skills in English
• ability to work in a team to successfully achieve global goals together
