Objectives of the Position

  • Coordinating and monitoring production processes of Dispersions Plant (Polyline 1 – 45 kt and Polyline 2 – 55 kt), Pasir Gudang under the directions of Plant Manager - Dispersions.
  • Managing production and striving for excellence in Safety, Cost, Quality, Productivity and Moral aspects.
  • Ensuring smooth functioning of production plants by coordinating with required support and service functions.


Main Tasks

Related to Production

  • Monitor Process flow, Capacity Utilization, Safety at workplace, Down times due to Breakdowns and Availability of Resources for achieving required productivity. And accountable for optimizing the output and utilization of resources.
  • Guide the production team and manage production safely with consistent quality as per the target.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting activities when production problems occur including after working hours.
  • Manage Day to Day stock of Functional & Dysfunctional Inventory to reduce fixed manufacturing cost.
  • Coordinate with Engineering department for the maintenance activities.
  • Monitors logistic processes in the site including inbound and outbound activities, including product scheduling, raw material availability and delivery as well as product delivery to customer.
  • Manage timely cleaning & inspection of Non Hazardous & Hazardous Storage Tanks.
  • Execute the small OpEx & Capex Projects for Process Improvements in Dispersions Plants.
  • Support Process Engineer for Responsible Care documentation like Startup/Shutdown Checklist, Supporting Documents of Management of Change, Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment, Work Instruction, etc.

Related for EHS

  • Lead improvement projects Operational Excellence & Capex under the guidance of Production Manager & provide necessary information / training to team members.
  • Responsible for the reporting of Yellow Cards, Near Miss, Accidents and Incidents in Action tracer and AIMS system.
  • Responsible for leading the RCA and investigations for quality & safety related concerns.
  • Authorized to approve Hot Work / Confined Space Entry / Height Work Permit in the absence of Plant Manager - Dispersions and his Deputy.
  • Guide shop floor personnel towards SHE (Safety, Health and Environment), Responsible Care, and cleanliness of the plant (5S) and in disciplines for improving the BASF’s safe work culture. This ensures compliance with BASF’s statutory requirements, which also includes the training of the subordinates regarding the safety aspects and handling of critical monomers / hazardous chemicals.
  • Ensure the documentation of Responsible Care Management Systems requirements continually.
  • Coordinate with Wastewater Treatment Plant for effluent discharge incase of any abnormality.
  • Accountable for discharge parameters of all the emissions and effluents in the plant are within the statutory limits in respective shifts.


Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Experience: 5+ Years (with 4+ years’ experience in Chemical Industry)
  • Technical & Professional Knowledge:
  • Strong fundamentals in Chemical engineering
  • Good interpersonal, leadership and time management skills with ability to interact in a multiple hierarchical level.
  • Continuous improvement techniques and methods including, overall asset effectiveness, Statistical techniques.
