Objectives
- To achieve the Engineering Plastics business unit’s target on both sales performance and profit according to the target agreement, Support business development and customer management by initiating contacts with existing and new potential customers.
- Provide input for account plan, pricing strategy and market intelligence.
- Ensure/Provide appropriate technical support for responsible customers
- Conduct and develop the EP business according to the regional strategy and objectives in line with regional and local Code of Conduct principles.
Main responsibilities
Sales Development
- Conduct existing business and develop new projects in existing & new customers to ensure both volume and margin growth.
- Develop sales plans; secure and expedite orders.
- Supervise and consolidate the sales forecast.
Strategic Tasks and Implementation
- Representing plastic team as account manager and set up the meeting and steer & collaborate with key account manager for business development.
- Identify customer accounts and regularly update account profiles.
- Implement the sales and marketing directions according to the agreed directions.
- Set up a customer long term pricing strategy and price negotiation.
Product/Industry/Business Development
- Scout for new business opportunities in the respective sales areas / key accounts and develop a business plan.
- Suggest product developments and requirements to Senior Manager or Business Management and support its implementation.
Customer Management
- Conduct field visits, seminars, presentations and attend to customers’ inquiries.
- Provide prompt response related to quality, technical applications, inquiries, and other related issues, conduct customers’ assessments and analyses.
- Align with Regional and key functions to address customers’ issues properly.
- Support regular customer interactions in different hierarchies.
Credit Management
- Monitor the growth of the customers’ business, review and coordinate with credit control to make appropriate credit recommendations.
- Follow-up on payment collections and ensure on-time payment from the customers
Marketing
- Implement pricing policy and support product launch processes.
- Monitor and review marketing/promotion campaign’s execution.
- Support public relations and marketing communication campaign for related business.
Market Intelligence
- Conduct studies/analysis on market trends, competitors, products’ applications and technology, service needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Polymer Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline such as Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 3-5 years of technical sales experience, preferably in engineering plastics, sales, market or application development, or the automotive industry.
- Extensive knowledge of engineering plastics, including technical expertise and relevant applications. Experience in tooling, plastics compounding, and application development is highly advantageous.
- Strong proficiency in both spoken and written English, along with computer literacy.
