I&E Technician II – Mechanical Equipment / Wyandotte, MI (Resins)
Perform duties to install, maintain and repair equipment at the BASF Wyandotte Manufacturing site. Tasks include performing electrical, instrumentation and/or automation maintenance repairs including electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, PLC troubleshooting, and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair of all site equipment. Willingness and availability to work Monday-Friday rotating 10 hour dayshifts and Overtime hours when necessary.
During your Dayshift as an I/E Technician II, you will
Our I&E Technicians are responsible for the repair and maintenance of all Instrument equipment on site within the ED group, including:
- Flow and SIS Instruments
- Temperature and Pressure Instruments & Transmitters
- Valve Actuators/Positioners
- MCC Equipment
- Profibus
General Responsibilities:
- Work with maintenance supervision, other technicians, engineers, and production personnel to design plant equipment and modifications
- Improve equipment reliability by maintaining, analyzing, troubleshooting, and utilizing all resources available. Findings reported to supervision with appropriate recommendations.
- Ability to provide guidance on parts and time needed to perform various instrumentation and electrical repairs for job planning and scheduling.
- Utilizing various instrument calibration equipment (pressure, temperature, flow, etc.)
- Actively participating in plant safety meetings. Works within BASF site and corporate procedures.
- Demonstrates a team-oriented demeanor and maintain good attendance history
- Call-in support for after-hours production demands to include working overtime and weekends when needed.
GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Lift up to 50 lbs., carrying up to 25 lbs., push/pull up to 25 lbs.
- Bending, kneeling, squatting, and crawling
- Climb vertical, fixed ladders with ladder cage, portable step and extension ladders
- Work within confined spaces
Formula for Success
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2-4 years of Instrumentation/electrical maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- 1 year experience reading electrical drawings
- 1 year experience with email management (open, read, respond)
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with limited violations
- Willing and available to work Monday - Friday, rotating 10 hour dayshifts - Mon-Thur for 2 weeks, Tues-Fri for 2 weeks
Preferred Qualifications:
- AS Degree in a Instrument/electrical or repair related discipline
- Maintenance Trade School Certificate or Diploma
- 5 years of Instrument/electrical maintenance experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
