We are seeking a professional like you to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for production management of the polyester polyol (PESOL) plant in Malcom Iowa, makers of high-performance polyester polyols used in automotive, footwear, cabling, and other specialty applications. As production manager, you will put your technical and leadership skills to work by leading a production operations team ensuring safe, effective, and compliant operation with all relevant regulations while meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

As a Production Manager, you create chemistry by...

  • Ensuring that all activities within the area of responsibility are carried out in compliance with BASF Regulations, the site Responsible Care Management System, and all relevant State and Federal regulations.
  • Leveraging your educational background in chemical or mechanical engineering, and experience in a chemical manufacturing environment, you will use your technical skills, professional experience and tactical assistance skills to proactively support the evolving needs and requests of manufacturing personnel, business functions, and other key stakeholders.
  • By applying your prior experience in supervising and leading others, as the production manager of PESOL Team at the Malcom site, you will coach, develop, motivate, and challenge direct reports to drive high performance and reach their full potential.
  • Leading and managing production operations to meet agreed supply plans in terms of time, cost, and quality, and developing and implementing corrective actions to avoid shortfalls and off-spec products.
  • Ensuring full compliance with maintenance plans to deliver required asset effectiveness.
  • Providing technical, administrative, and troubleshooting support to operations, maintenance, and the business to execute the production plan, also providing technical and leadership support in root cause failure analysis for production and quality incidents.
  • Ensuring that prioritized and active continuous improvement plans are in place, aimed at delivering target levels (or better) for process performance, asset effectiveness, product quality, and EHS performance.
  • Investigating incidents and performance issues and developing and implementing corrective and preventive actions to ensure targeted improvement.

If you...

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering
  • Have 10+ years experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Hold 3+ years of people leadership experience this would be preferred
