BASF/Chemetall, is the Surface Treatment global business unit of BASF’s Coatings division, operating under the Chemetall brand, and a leading supplier of applied surface treatments worldwide. At BASF/Chemetall, we develop and manufacture tailor-made technology and system solutions for applied surface technology. Our products protect metals from corrosion, facilitate forming and treatment, prepare parts optimally for the painting process and ensure excellent coating adhesion. Our technologies and products are used in a variety of industries and end markets such as automotive, aerospace, aluminum finishing and metal forming.

The chemical treatment of metal surfaces is BASF/Chemetall core competence. The focus of our worldwide activities is on the development and implementation of customized technology and system solutions for surface treatment.

We are looking for a Industry Sales Specialist-Aerospace to join our Sales team; this is a remote position that covers N.A. This individual can be based in the U.S., Canada, or Mexico; however, near an international airport.

The Industry Sales Specialist - Aerospace will grow share of wallet within Aerospace customers by managing the relationship and executing new business through systematic upselling and cross-selling.

As a Industry Sales Specialist - Aerospace (ECT-Chemetall), you create chemistry by...

  • Account and relationship management; take ownership of the assigned account(s), sales, and pricing processes according to the company’s pricing guidelines and marketing pricing strategy for the industry.
  • Develop and maintain accuracy of assigned customers to include organizational Power Map and decision making hierarchy.
  • Responsible for ensuring all assigned account information is loaded into CRM (Salesforce) and is accurate and up to date.
  • Develop pricing strategy, generate and manage commercial and technical approvals.
  • Prepare and manage bid/tender offers, assist in preparing and negotiating contracts.
  • Maintain close business relationships with key decision makers of assigned accounts.
  • Represent Chemetall in on-site visits and key meetings of assigned accounts.
  • Customer development activities, align account targets together with the Key Industry Sales Manager for assigned accounts.
  • Continuously analyze and keep track of sales and identify up/cross-selling opportunities within the account using Salesforce.
  • Understand technical and managerial requirements of the customer; uncover and offer new products tailored to the customer’s needs.
  • Keep track of competitors’ offers and actions, initiate counteractions; engage clients with marketing & communication initiatives.
  • Advise Regional Marketing Manager on operational key accounts management, advise Regional Sales Team on target account activities.
  • Support development of sales-related trainings and share market insights and trends with Regional Marketing management while providing input into industry segment strategy.

If you have...

  • Bachelor’s degree: Engineering, Chemistry or Business Administration preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Aerospace; experience with Aerospace Engines and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul).
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of surface treatment.
  • Prior experience with key account management.
  • Demonstrated consistent sales achievement and business sales acumen (account & relationship management, value-based selling, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Additional skills: strategic thinking skills, strong cross-functional collaboration skills, organizational awareness, cultural awareness.
  • Ability to travel 50-60% throughout North America.

Pay Transparency

BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $120,000-$160,000 CAD. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
