We are looking for a Business Controller to join our Petrochemicals (CP) team in Houston, TX.

We are seeking a professional like you to serve as a member of the Industrial Petrochemicals Controlling Team and as such provide input and participate in making key management decisions of the Acrylic Monomers business. In this role, you will support the Head of the North American Acrylic Monomers Business Unit in controlling activities analyzing, reviewing, and reporting financial data. You must create realistic, yet challenging budgets for the business, formulating both operating and strategic plans. You will take an active role in supporting the business in establishing actions that will translate different coordinated initiatives into the desired outcomes of the business measured in the key KPIs.

As a Business Controller, you create chemistry by...

  • Coordinating and owning business reviews, monthly forecasting, annual operating plan, and strategic planning processes for the supported businesses. This includes timely preparation, integrity, and accuracy of reporting along with thorough analysis of results and projections for the future to facilitate effective management decision making.
  • Driving digital transformation in controlling by implementing automation and advanced analytics. Automate reporting and financial workflows with SAP, Power BI, and cloud solutions to streamline processes and optimize costs.
  • Being Responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of financial reporting and analysis, leading complex projects, and providing recommendations to help the team meet financial objectives. Support evaluation of strategic initiatives and develop insights to guide decision-making and planning.
  • Managing the monthly closing process, reviewing all aspects of the financial closing to ensure the accuracy and deep understanding of reported results and facilitating the timely dissemination of financial information.
  • Taking ownership and accountability will be critical as you will be responsible for the adequacy of all financial controls and systems within the business in North America.

If you...

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, and 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Understand accounting principles, practices and procedures as well as site cost accounting experience.
  • Have proven experience with SAP and P&L.
  • Can drive digital transformation and automation, leading projects to streamline processes and improve efficiency, while bringing strong data analytics skills and the ability to foster a data-driven culture across the organization.
  • Showcase collaborating skills in guiding a cross-functional, diverse team of professionals.
  • Exhibit high attention to detail, communication and adaptability skills.
