The Operations Engineer role is designed to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable functioning of plant operations. This position emphasizes process optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement to support production goals and compliance standards. This role is essential in maintaining operational excellence, supporting production demands, and enhancing the overall safety and compliance of the plant. Success in this role contributes directly to business objectives and operational reliability.

As a Operations Engineer, you create chemistry by...

  • Monitoring and analyzing operational data to identifying opportunities for improving.
  • Owning Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Process Safety Information, process equipment materials, and physical property data for assigned operations.
  • Supporting Process Hazards Analysis and managing Management of Change (MOC) documentation.
  • Leading troubleshooting efforts for equipment and process issues, ensuring swift resolving and minimizing downtimes.
  • Interacting closely with Operations, Maintenance, and other operational support personnel to coordinating effective solutions and enhancements.
  • Supporting Capital Planning and Project Execution for both existing and future capital projects as the Manufacturing Representative.
  • Driving projects focusing on cost reducing, quality improving, and sustainability advancing.
  • Serving as a solution providing when problems arising, leading efforts for identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Resolving Quality non-conformances generated in your area.
  • Supporting safety initiatives and ensuring adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Providing technical expertise in plant operations, maintenance, and process engineering.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams for implementing process changing and enhancement.
  • Providing guidance and supporting PDPs and interns working within the department.

If you...

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or a related field)
  • Have at least 3 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial operations, preferably in a chemical or refining environment
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Have knowledge of safety, environmental, and quality standards applicable to plant operations
  • Are familiar with process optimization and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Have experience with data analysis and reporting to support operational decision-making
  • Have worked on projects in cross-functional environments
