Objectives of the position:
To be the sub-regional lead of CI supply chain contributing actively, implementing global and regional
measures and targets and representing CI perspective and interests in the sub-region. Lead the team
in day-to-day business with focus on talent development and increasing overall team capability. To be
accountable for the relevant CI SC process, initiatives and performance to ensure business continuity
& to support/enable profit growth.
Main Tasks:
1. Supply chain people and organization management
• To lead and steer the sub-regional supply chain team to perform supply chain tasks and
duties per role and responsibilities.
• To motivate, coach and develop the sub-regional supply chain to support CI growth
strategy.
• To provide know-how and expertise on supply chain operation.
• To closely collaboration across functional units, locally and regionally.
• To cascade global/regional targets down the team.
• To provide guidance and training to supply chain team to meet compliance and safety
level.
• Act as sub-regional supply chain representative, participates in regional meeting and
events. Distribute the messages, or learnings back to sub-regional team.
• To provide advice and alert to regional SCM Head for issue or risk arise because of
regulatory or operation reason.
2. SC Performance Management
• Define and communicate CI supply chain requirements and expectations to functional
partners (Logistics Procurement, External Service Providers, GB counterparts etc.) and
ensure requirements are met.
• Monitor and manage sub-region supply chain performance via KPIs, benchmarks, defined
service levels.
• Reporting for sub-regionally managed logistics operations, along with Logistics
Procurement and SC services platform, manage third party logistics service providers
based on the service contract conditions and regularly feedback on actual service
performance for corrective actions
3. Supply chain cost optimization
• Identify cost drivers within supply chain processes, initiate cost saving measures.
• Develop or optimize the utilization of sub-regional SC resources through evaluating costs,
profitability and working capital requirements in materials, supply chain allocated costs,
storage/shipping/handling charges, sales administration expenses, etc. in order to
recommend to the supervisor, programs to improve the economic performance of
individual supply chain activities and enhance the finance returns.
4. Supply Chain Planning and Coordination
• Work with Regional SCM & business teams, as well as other stakeholders to support
sales and operation planning (S&OP) process within timeline and achieve high level of
planning accuracy.
• Implement allocation process with shortage management, measure supply demand
balance, issue supply alert on time and trigger corresponding process to manage
shortage.
5. Order management
• To monitor FS functional performance and ensure FS (including IM/EM/TM/CS/APTC)
o Monitor shipments from Europe/USA/Asia.
o Monitor the handling of shipping documents accurately and timely by minimizing L/C discrepancies and late documents by related functional team.
o Monitor and ensure accurate and on-time invoicing to customers and affiliated companies.
o Drive for order automation with tools like ecommerce, World Account etc.
o Utilize Order Status Report to follow up order status and pull for execution.
• Monitor customer communication to collect order with request lead time and information for smooth order processing.
6. Inventory management
• Develop and monitor inventory control procedures in order to maintain optimum stock to fulfill sales demand while ensuring cost effectiveness.
• Review the stock points setup for finished goods, and the corresponding safety stock level to ensure optimal balance between service and cost.
• Reduction in non-moving inventory
7. NCM
• To coordinate, support and monitor all internal and external supply chain related complaints of the sub-region. To suggest corrective actions to improve NCM management.
8. Risk Management
• Coordinate with EHS/IT/Finance/Legal/HR and other functions as required to ensure compliance with internal and external rules and regulations related to supply chain operations and processes.
• Identify risks and take preventive/corrective action including communication to relevant stakeholders.
9. Continuous Improvement and Projects
• Support improvement in e-commerce coverage.
• Support and lead CI and supply chain improvement projects as required in the sub-region.
• Propose and run sub-region service improvement initiatives to drive for customer satisfaction as per business service level.
Job Requirements (minimum requirement to carry out the work):
- Education - Minimum bachelor’s degree in business administration or relevant qualification, APICS certification will be an added advantage
- Working Experience - 8 years of relevant experience + Successfully leading a team to meet business objectives - preferably in regional supply chain environment with track record of several successfully managed complex projects, working in chemical industry is a plus
- Skills - Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to multi-task, prioritize work load and work in a fast-paced environment; confident with complex & challenging projects in supply chain management (strategy / operations / organization), planning (demand, supply, inventory), distribution + experience in digitalization
