Northern/Central California - Remote

We are looking for a Regional Product Manager - Processing Tomatoes to join our Agricultural Solutions team supporting our Vegetable Seeds business in California. This is a remote position and the preference would be for the candidate to live in the Northern/Central area of California.

This role consolidates responsibilities from both Product Development (PD) and Marketing & Sales (M&S) domains, focusing on crop strategy execution, market intelligence, and regional coordination. It ensures the implementation of PD crop strategy and marketing plans, manages trial processes, and fosters crop community expertise. The position bridges market requirements with breeding and sales efforts to optimize crop assortment and drive successful product introductions.

As a Regional Product Manager - Processing Tomatoes, you create chemistry by...

  • Identifying market opportunities based on trends, insights and customer needs
  • Understanding the competitive landscape through trusted relationships
  • Assessing strengths and gaps in the product portfolio and pipeline
  • Translating crop tactical plans into regional marketing strategies and ensuring execution
  • Prioritizing time and resources according to task impact and business needs
  • Leading communication within the crop community and with cross‑functional stakeholders
  • Guiding pipeline development and optimizing crop assortments to maximize product fit
  • Monitoring portfolio performance and driving advancement and go/no‑go decisions
  • Defining and prioritizing the product pipeline roadmap
  • Leading variety registration and intellectual property protection efforts
  • Driving innovation in growing concepts and supporting training for local specialists
  • Collaborating with sales and marketing teams to achieve crop targets
  • Fostering the crop community and enabling knowledge exchange across the region

If you...

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Marketing or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Have 8–10+ years of relevant experience in product development (PD) or international marketing & sales (M&S) roles
  • Demonstrate strong agronomic knowledge, analytical capability, and program coordination skills
  • Excel at prioritizing tasks and resources, with solid business acumen and decision-making ability
  • Are proficient with MS Office and common productivity tools
  • Are able to position products within a crop portfolio, influence stakeholders without direct authority, and consistently drive results
  • Have previous experience with Processing Tomato crop, preferred
  • Are able to travel up to 20%, domestically and internationally

Pay transparency

BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $114,400 - $157,300. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
