We are looking for a Trial Technician, High-Tech Lettuce to join our Agricultural Solutions team supporting our Vegetable Seeds business. This is a remote role and the ideal candidate should be located in the Northeast US.

The Trial Technician supports the Product Development (PD) Specialist and Crop Lead in the execution of research-level yield trials aimed at identifying superior-performing seed products. Additionally, the Trial Technician provides technical support and agronomic insights to local sales teams, coordinates trial logistics including contracts and stakeholder engagement, and presents trial outcomes and competitive market data to internal and external stakeholders. The role plays a key part in shaping regional product strategies through data-driven recommendations.

- Assisting the Product Development Specialist and Crop Lead in executing research field trials to evaluate seed performance
- Implementing and maintaining trials across all crop stages, from planting through growth monitoring to harvest
- Contributing to planning basic and advanced trials, ensuring timely and accurate setup and protocol adherence
- Monitoring trial progress and reporting status updates and data-quality issues to supervisors and stakeholders
- Identifying suitable growers, setting up and coordinating trial sites, and managing trial agreements and logistics
- Sowing seeds according to protocol and overseeing the full crop cycle through harvest and data collection
- Collecting, recording, and managing high‑trait data digitally in line with established protocols
- Serving as a technical reference by providing expert support internally and externally to support sales and customer success
If you...
- Hold a B.Sc. in Agriculture or equivalent
- Have 0-2 years’ relevant experience in product development or manufacturing of vegetable seeds, or 1-3 years’ practical experience growing vegetables
- Demonstrate strong experimentation skills and crop-specific agronomic expertise
- Use digital tools proficiently for trial management and data recording
- Plan and organize trial activities to meet timelines and quality standards
- Solve operational and technical problems with practical, structured approaches
- Analyze and interpret trial data to produce actionable insights
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external growers
- Apply local market knowledge to inform PD activities and priorities
- Decide confidently and take ownership of trial execution and integrity
- Work independently, showing initiative while following protocols and safety
- Maintain customer orientation to support sales and grower success
- Bring commercial awareness to optimize trial design and product introduction
- Communicate professionally in English; Spanish language skills desirable
- Are able to travel up to 40% in the region

Pay transparency
BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $66,600 - $81,400. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
