WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Our team “Business Process & Digital Excellence” rolls out innovative solutions to support better and faster business decisions across the BASF Intermediates Division. We implement AI solutions with their complete lifecycle for business users across the globe.

• We are looking for a motivated Full Stack Engineer to develop traditional and AI applications across sales, marketing, supply chain, production, R&D use cases in our division.

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• You will engage with business process teams and end users to understand needs, clarify scope and turn ideas into deliverable features.
• You will plan and iterate with stakeholders, align priorities, deliver increments, run demos and gather feedback to improve.
• You will coordinate with platform and data teams to ensure access, governance and compliance are in place for AI‑enabled applications.
• You will ensure operational readiness, preparing concise documentation and handover materials, and supporting basic monitoring and incident paths.
• You will promote reuse and industrialization, contributing to templates, shared components and standards to speed up future deliveries.
• You will enable adoption, offering short trainings, user guides and hands‑on support so teams can use and extend what you build.
• You will collaborate as part of an agile, interdisciplinary team to create and visualize business insights from data previously hidden in silos.

OUR MAIN REQUIREMENTS

• A Bachelor/Master degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Physics, or a related discipline.
• At least 1 year of experience working on software projects within a team environment.
• Python proficiency with practical environment management (virtualenv/Poetry); comfortable writing maintainable scripts/modules and logging/error handling.
• Experience building front‑end data apps with Dash or Streamlit.
• Familiarity with modern AI frameworks such as MCP, LangChain, LlamaIndex or Haystack
• Git management and CI/CD process (job scheduling, pipeline building).
• Docker: writing Dockerfiles, building Docker images (Kubernetes familiarity is a plus).
• SQL skills; familiarity with Databricks for data integration/processing is an advantage.
• Fluent English (spoken and written); team player with a growth mindset.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with agile ways of working and a practical DevOps mindset.
• Exposure to Azure services (e.g., Azure ML, Databricks) and simple model/prompt deployment flows.
• Ability to quickly grasp new topics, paired with a structured, conceptual approach to problem‑solving.
• Previous experience in digital/process roles; strong collaboration skills and comfort working in a team environment.
• German language skills are an advantage.
