Objectives of the Position
To assist E&I Manager to provide electrical and instrumentation technical supports & services to ensure high reliability of plants Instrumentation equipment by having proper preventive maintenance on Instrumentation systems to ensure they always function correctly, efficiently and safely.
Main Tasks
- Ensure that all safety, environmental and health rules and guidelines are being adhered to at all times to maintain an accident-free, healthy and clean environment at the workplace.
- Maintain and update the work system (SAP PM) for Instrument Section and monitor the planning, scheduling and implementation of all Instrument maintenance works.
- Ensure appropriate tools & equipment are used by instrumentation team to perform the work and ensure that they are always adequately equipped.
- Communicate effectively with all personnel within the section, the department and other department, especially on day-to-day technical problems.
- Assist in monitoring the availability of essential Instrumentation spare parts and Instrument maintenance materials by ensuring the team is carried out spare part issuing correctly & systematically.
- Ensure & carry out good technical documents filing & utilization.
- Perform training needs for subordinate and recommend for the appropriate training.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Electronic, Electrical and Instrumentation & Controls System.
- At least 2 years’ experience as engineer in Electrical & Instrumentation & controls works in a manufacturing industry.
- Knowledgeable in maintenance methodologies such as Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, Planning and Scheduling.
- Knowledgeable on PLC programing and applications.
- Familiar and experienced in quality systems (such as ISO 9001) & SAP PM is an added advantage
Job Characterization
- Leading and managing a team of Instrumentation personnel consisting of technicians.
- Communicate with all levels of personnel within the Site & also BASF community. Occasionally, required to communicate with external parties (other than BASF staff) such as Local Authority Officials.
- Interact with suppliers, contractors & consultants on Instrumentation matters.
- Exposure to chemical, electrical and mechanical hazards in a chemical plant
