We are looking for an Operations Manager to join our Automotive Refinish team in the Midwest.

BASF Automotive Refinish Coatings Solutions offers high-quality refinish paint brands and paint-related products to body shops from around the world. We are looking for a Zone Sales Manager - Automotive Refinish to join our EC team in the Southeast.

The Operations Manager is responsible for driving operational excellence within the Zone by managing a team of Technical Representatives and Business Development Managers. This role oversees deal creation and submission processes, handles internal financial requests, and ensures seamless execution of operational strategies. Acting as a key partner to the Zone Sales Manager, the Operations Manager supports customer engagement, distributor relationships, and internal alignment to deliver superior service and achieve business objectives. Additionally, the Operations Manager will partner with sales leadership and Human Resources to proactively manage all levels of team performance to continue driving growth.

  • Leading, coaching, and mentoring Technical Representatives and Business Development Managers
  • Setting clear performance goals and providing ongoing feedback and development planning
  • Fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Managing deal creation and submission processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Overseeing internal financial requests, ensuring compliance with company policies and budgetary guidelines
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to optimize workflows, pricing, and promotional programs
  • Monitoring KPIs and implementing corrective actions to maintain operational efficiency
  • Supporting the Zone Sales Manager in maintaining strong distributor and customer relationships
  • Ensuring technical and business development teams are delivering superior customer experience
  • Engaging with end-users when necessary to resolve operational issues and strengthen brand loyalty
  • Analyzing operational data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Preparing accurate reports on deal submissions, financial requests, and team performance
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations

If you have...

  • a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in operations or sales support within automotive refinish or related industry.
  • Proven track record of managing cross-functional teams and operational processes.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel within the region as required.

Pay transparency

BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $140,000 - $175,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
