The Communications Manager will contribute to and strengthen the development, implementation, quality and strategy behind communication activities that build awareness, understanding and support for BASF’s Agricultural Solutions Canadian business.

- Working as part of the APN Communications Team, leading the strategic direction and implementation of the internal communications strategy in Canada to advance internal understanding of BASF’s business, how it relates to who we are and our CORE values, and help build a positive work culture.
- Being responsible for the continued evolution of the internal communications strategy and the outreach tactics connected to the strategy including townhall events, employee engagement initiatives including talent connections, leadership meet and greet and Q&A sessions, employee recognition initiatives, e-newsletter, digital sign communication, site branding, and employee feedback campaigns including employee voices.
- Leading the development and execution of the Thought Leadership and portions of the Corporate Giving program ensuring investments support our business objectives, aligning with the company’s overall corporate giving strategy and policy, and are within budget.
- Working with and guiding the agency to support communications efforts and strategy delivery.
- Working in collaboration with the business to develop and implement internal communications strategy that align with business goals, setting specific objectives and report on ROI.
- Stewarding the Community Impact program in support of the AP 2035 Strategy: 4-H Canada, BASF Safety Scouts, etc.
- Integrating external activities into Canadian internal communications program in a way that educates and informs employees and helps to advance internal understanding of BASF’s business.
- Attending conferences and tradeshows representing BASF.
- Managing campaign budgets and measuring and delivering results in line with the annual plan.
- Providing support and guidance to collaborators (PDP, intern, other) in connection to their communications activity support.
If you have...
- A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Political Science, or related field. Post-graduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism is considered an asset.
- 8+ years’ experience in a similar role with experience in the Agriculture industry as an asset.
- A motivated, detail-oriented, and collaborative mindset, valuing growth, and demonstrating passion and initiative for evolving current processes.
- Ability to manage multiple priority initiatives concurrently to a high level of precision and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Aptitude for strategic decision-making and a strong capacity for critical thinking and problem-solving.
- Solid understanding of the internal communications best practices and how employee culture can impact the company.
- Flexibility and agility to respond quickly.
- Strength in project management and agency management experience.
- Ability to lead and motivate peers, consultants, and leaders and work collaboratively within a matrix organization.
- Experience in internal communications and executive communications support.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, communications measurement tools and experience integrating data and insights into the communication strategy.
